This is a great "tree house" escape. Everything you need. BUT there are 23 steps to climb. For me it was perfect. Quiet & peaceful. There are dogs on property, but I did not hear them unless I was coming or going. A bit tricky to find, but worth the trip. I'm from Indiana and the hills and hollers are a challenge. Dollar General and grocery just down the road. It needs a few repairs but nothing major. Don't hesitate to book if you can do the climb.

Very cozy

Found this place while looking for an area to come from out of state for a friends wedding. This was perfect for me and my significant other as it was roomy, and in a quiet area! Host was very easy to communicate with and we would consider this again if visiting the area again.

Get away

Needed a get away and social distancing was a must. Apartment was away from people and perfectly in the middle of all the state parks for hiking and fishing. Quiet and perfect for our needs.

The apartment was nice but wasn’t real clean and there were outside dogs that barked at all hours of the night. The location was great

Comfortable Stay

We came to WVU for a swim meet on a game weekend. Hotel prices were crazy! Patty’s property provided us with a great option. It was an easy drive to the University area. The property was clean, spacious, and quiet. Patty was very responsive and answered all of my questions within minutes. Overall, a great stay and a perfect alternative to over-inflated Morgantown hotel prices.

Nice little find

The property was in a rural location in a nice neighborhood. The apartment had everything you need. Pat, the host, made sure we had everything we needed and more! Although we were only there for four nights, it is a place that would be ideal for a long term stay. Thanks Pat for your excellent communication and kindness!

Very affordable

My ex wife stayed and the property was good for her and my daughter. They only 2 things they had a complaint on was the dogs barking downstairs every time the opened the door to the outside, and that the apartment smelled of dog slightly. The property owner was very professional and quick to reply.

I apologize for whatever the smell was. The dogs are outside so it couldnt have been dog odor. They have a building under the apt deck. If I had known they were barking I would have moved them to the kennel. I can understand why it may sound like they were downstairs because the bldg is attached to the outside of the garage. So sorry for inconvenience and thanks for letting me know so I can make a different arrangement during bookings. Patty

Older but comfortable

Stay is above a garage as listed with steps that are easy to navigate. It is in a very quiet neighborhood well off the main road. The apartment is a bit older with some signs of wear, but is still a comfortable place. There were dishes, silverware, a few utensils and pots/pans. There were starter paper products and travel personal items, if needed. Water in fridge, crackers and coffee/filters were provided. This stay is close to several areas with beautiful walking paths . Owner was quick to reply to emails.

Thank you for staying and for your review. I have had a couple updates in the plan for some time now. A new patio door will hopefully be here soon. It's not standard size so I have been waiting for over 3 months for it to be made. Glad you were able to enjoy the local trails

This place had an awful odor

The space itself was cute and comfortable. Check in was easy. Great communication. However, I noticed many glade plug ins and I removed them as they give me a headache. The smell of urine and feces in the bedrooms was so overpowering we had to sleep in the living room and keep the windows open all day. It was raining at checknout time and it was so intensely rancid we both vomited as we rushed to get out. Do not stay here.

I received this message from you your second day here: The space is great! I opened a few windows, I hope that's ok. our city is so toxic since the flood we came for the fresh air, and it is wonderful. My husband was curious if we could access Netflix. And after this, I promise I won't bother you anymore this evening. If there was an issue why was it not mentioned then?

Avoid this property

First, too many steps, 22 were counted. The apartment smelled of urine. Furniture dilapidated and uncomfortable. Definitely not as advertised.

There was a picture of the steps on the listing. I realize steps can be an issue and that's why they are mentioned in the review and listed. As far as your other complaints, why did you not mention these when we were speaking face to face. The sofa is older but it is comfortable and I keep a cover on it that is washed between bookings. I allow one pet as long as it is noted in the reservation. You did not indicate that you were traveling with 2 and did not list any on your reservation. As far as urine smell, the cleaning.lady can verify that we shampooed 2 wet spots after your visit and also found dog food under the bed. Everything in my listing is correct. Your reservation was not, however

Stinky

Very strong air freshener smell upon entering. Trying to cover bad smell from bedroom (? Dog/litter box/musty). Could not lighten smell with air purifier or opening window. Was so bad my son and his girlfriend ended up getting a hotel room in Morgantown second night we were there. Lots of stairs. Owner lives in other part of the house. Beds were very small. Full size. I had to sleep on couch because husband and I did not fit. Toilet does not work well. Located middle of no where with very winding roads (even by WV standards) with lots of deer to look out for.

There have never been cats in that apartment and im not sure what air freshner smell you are referring to because i had none in there. The ad specifies 2 full size beds. If you had let me know that was an issue i would have opened the adjoining bedroom for you. Your message to me while visiting said you were enjoying going away from the area that was damage where you lived and had the windows open for that reason. If you had told me i would have tryed to find the issue. The air filter has nothing to do with odor. It is to remove dander for those that may have pet allergies

This was a super cute pet friendly stay. It was perfect for what we needed. Beds were comfy and had lots of room for us. My only complaint was lighting to the steps could have been better but I could see the host was making lots of improvements. Will definitely stay here again.

Absolutely perfect!

My husband and I needed some time away from our very busy and hectic careers to celebrate our anniversary. After scouring VRBO for days, we found Patty’s place. It is a full apartment. Two good sized bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen/dining room combination (coffee pot, toaster, microwave, etc.), cozy living room with a gas fireplace (my favorite part!), and a large bathroom (with great water pressure in the shower!!) There’s a Walmart about 5 minutes away. It’s about 20-30 minutes to Morgantown, with different route options. We ventured to Morgantown the one day for bowling, dinner and some groceries. The remainder of our trip was at the apartment. It was PERFECT! We watched movies cuddled on the couch by the fireplace, played cards, baked Blondies. If I messaged Patty, she answered quickly! It was spotless, cozy & we would like to book this home again in the future!

WVU football trip

This property was a great value. Thoughtful as there were some snacks and water bottles for us on arrival. We were staying because of a WVU football weekend. The drive to Morgantown was close to 35 minutes, so a little more than “minutes from Morgantown” but still not a terrible drive. Patricia was very quick to respond. We would stay again.

Sorry if the minutes from Morgantown was misleading. I am 15- 20 minutes from Sabraton end of Morgantown I will update the listing with time to the stadium also because that's on the north end of town and 10-15 min further on game days. Thank you so much for your stay. Again, I apologize if listing was confusing.

A fantastic stay in a safe area

We stayed at Patricia's ("Patty") place this past week (8/2020) and it was terrific. Clean, comfortable seating and beds, and a kitchen. Also, a completely separate entrance so you can maintain social distancing in this unfortunate time of covid19. We consider that absolutely key and she has it. Reedsville is located within a 25 minute drive from many parks and places to hike or kayak and we really enjoyed ourselves. Overall a fantastic stay!
