This 150 m² gîte (holiday cottage) is located in the former Carthusian monks' quarters, on the first floor of the town hall. You'll appreciate its large living room, fully equipped kitchenette, and three spacious bedrooms, each with its own bathroom (accommodating up to 14 people with extra beds). The beds are arranged as follows: Blueberry Room: 1 double bed; Yellow Room: 2 single beds and 2 bunk beds; Green Room: 2 single beds and 4 single beds on the mezzanine. Bed linen is available for rent, and towels are included. A municipal car park is located 50 meters from the gîte. Temporary access for unloading luggage is secured by an automatically retracting electric bollard. Please do not use it, even if you find it open. Please inquire at the information desk. Only staff are authorized to open the access bollard. The Tourist Office and the town hall decline all responsibility in the event of an incident occurring while passing through the terminal. Ideally located between Lyon and Saint-Étienne, in the heart of a verdant valley within the Pilat Regional Natural Park, discover this gîte in a unique cultural setting: a Carthusian monastery founded in 1280. For 500 years, silence and solitude reigned in this place inhabited by monks. During the French Revolution, after the departure of the Carthusians, the inhabitants transformed it into a village. Thus was born the commune of Sainte-Croix-en-Jarez, now listed among the most beautiful villages in France and a village of character in the Loire. Housed in the monastery buildings, this site has retained all its authenticity. Guests, whether with family or friends, will find peace and tranquility in this comfortable gîte, which has a small garden on the ground floor. A football pitch and tennis court are located near the gîte. There are two restaurants on site and a farm shop selling local produce.
