Nice location but poor maintenance and cleaning

Sub par cleaning and unsafe maintenance problems. With children there we had to go buy a mop and bucket to clean the floor because their feet got dirty right away inside. It was disgusting! Stairs to upper deck has loose and broken steps and railing. Outdoor switch hanging off with loose conduit. The switch worked so it was live still! Unusable back yard due to foot tall grass. Property is in disrepair but the location is great.

Close to the beach

The house was very nice with a very short walk to the beach. It had plenty of room & was nice to have 3 bathrooms. The house definitely needs a deep cleaning...not really sure when the last time that happened! Dust everywhere, dried food on the shelf by the counter, had to move out the entertainment center & dust debris behind it. We looked everywhere for a broom to at least sweep up the sand & my daughter finally found it on our last day in the bathroom closet!! The downstairs bathroom floor (by the shower) & the cabinet should probably be replaced. If the cleanliness was kept up it would be an amazing house. Other than that it met our needs as we enjoyed it & loved our stay in Kill Devil Hills.

Our week at OBX 2021

The home is had everything we needed. Our kids and grandkids had a great time. The house needed a good Deep Clean but it is a beautiful house and short distance to the beach. The only thing that would make it better is a pool but hey... there is a whole ocean just moments away. Enjoyed our time. Thank You!

Decent

This property got the job done. The location is excellent and close to all things Outer Banks. About a block and a half from the beach. This may be the end of the positives. As far as supplies go this house advertised multiple beach chairs. Only 1 actual beach chair worked properly. Additionally, there were no supplies provided (toilet paper, paper towel, dish rags, etc). The house was on the surface level, clean. However, close up, there was dust everywhere in the kitchen, on the wooden beams, and all of the fans. There were crumbs, stale fruit, and old cereal found all over the floor. I’m fairly certain that any extra cleaning did not happen. There is a Wii but no batteries to use the remotes. There were bugs in the basement bathroom. Resort Realty, which runs the rental, was non-existent. They told us to call when we got in the area for a check in notice (which is we did around 8 AM), however, we never received a check in call. We had to call again at 4:30 PM (30 minutes after the check in time) to inquire whether the property was ready, which it was. Had we waited for their check in call we would still be waiting. Overall, mediocre stay. Great location. The house got the job done but this wasn’t worth the price of the listing in our group’s opinion.
