Well furnished apartment and great security features in place. Unexpected accommodations like coffee, snacks, bottled water, extra linens, etc. Very clean and the owner, Juan, answered my call immediately when I had a problem with batteries going dead and showed up right away to fix the situation. Great price especially for the whole weekend and would absolutely recommend and would stay here again in the future.
Beautiful, artsy, stocked apartment in cool, eclectic location
This neat apartment had everything we needed! The artistic touches are lovely, everything was sparkling clean and worked well. Lots of towels, bottled water, coffee, lots of pillows and an extra blanket for the huge bed, even laundry detergent, etc. for the washer/dryer. The house is historic, and the interior remodel is great. It's cool that the doors all lock/unlock via a phone app. The foot bridge within 50 feet of the front door took us to downtown, the River Walk, etc. There are some nearby cafes as well. This historic Dignowity neighborhood is transitioning, there are some spots that seem 'rough' but we never felt unsafe. Finally, our host Juan was fantastic! He was very responsive, helpful, and super friendly. We were greeted with a welcome sign. Highly recommend this great location!

Not for families.
As we drove closer to the property, the vibe was not great. There were homeless looking people walking around everywhere; the surrounding area was also extremely run down. We pulled up to the VRBO and there were THREE questionable looking men that were standing near and around the residence. We did not even go inside because it was just me, my cousin and our two young boys. The bridge is great, I guess. However—there is a lot of foot traffic. Whenever you don’t find out that the only parking available is on the street (only after you book), the foot traffic is not such a great thing if your car is a newer or nicer model AT ALL. If you were in town with a group of buddies or something, this place would be a “maybe”. The description is extremely misleading, but—I guess you get what you pay for.
This was close to everything we wanted to see, we were able to walk down town each day. Easy access in and out. Juan did a great job with communicating with me when I had any questions.
We loved staying here. It's an unusual, quaint and quirky place, light and bright and clean and comfortable and interestingly decorated. The apartment had all the necessities and even some treats waiting for us upon arrival. It was perfect for the two of us, but not sure how six adults would fare seeing the main bedroom was between the kitchen and the living room and you have to walk through the second bedroom to get to the bathroom. The location was great, nice and quiet on a dead-end street. There was easy access for getting downtown as we just walked across the pedestrian bridge, plus a few more blocks and we were at a hop-on hop-off bus stop. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it for a couple or a family."
Great rental property and loved the location. Minutes from the river walk and major attractions. We’ll be staying the again on our next trip to San Antonio. We fell in love with this place.

The house overall was beautiful. The location was not. There are at least a dozen roosters that live next door that wake you up around 4 am. The surrounding area was not in the safest place. There are drug users and homeless people just outside the neighborhood. The bridge was great until a motor cycle group kept going up and down it late at night. Like I said, house was great, location not the best if you are staying with your family, or in general.
The apartment was clean and well maintained. The artwork made this stay a unique experience. The apartment was small, but that was not a problem for us. In order to use the bathroom, we had to go through the kids bedroom. The neighborhood seemed to be in the process of being transformed, since there were some houses that have definitely been renovated.
Owners were really great to communicate with. Property is nice and clean, very close to downtown but out of the craziness. Quiet neighborhood. A great experience!
