The interior features rustic decor with handcrafted pieces & design guaranteed to make you feel like you're millions of miles away from the city. Huge game room where you can play basketball, ping pong, billiards, foosball and corn hole. There's something for all ages. In the summer, enjoy swimming in the man-made pond or sit around a warm campfire. This place is perfect for getaways, family vacations, reunions, and special occasions!

DO NOT STRIP BEDS - Upon check-out turn off all lights, close all security shutters, lock all doors, turn heat/ac to 68 degrees. NO SMOKING INSIDE.
Take garbage to dumpster, put dishes in dishwasher, put used towels in laundry room. DONT USE WHITE TOWELS OUTSIDE. POND TOWELS IN LAUNDRY ROOM.
When coming down the driveway and pulling up to the house, all property to the left is not ours, please do not trespass on the neighbors property.

An incredible spot to bring the family together

We had an excellent time staying at this one-of-a-kind location. We appreciated that it was close to amenities and there was plenty of space for everyone! Our kids loved the pond.

We hosted our annual yoga retreat at The Sugar Shack and it was an amazing experience. It was well-stocked and well-organized. They had everything we could have needed. We love the open concept and turned the garage into our yoga studio. We loved the whole place and can't wait to get back!

Great place for relaxing getaway

The pictures don't do it justice - the place is huge! Very comfortable and well-appointed. Would definitely recommend for a larger group.

My three children and their families of three children each spent our annual Cousin camp here. Ages 6-74 and we all loved it. The Sugar Shack is so much fun with amazing touches and everything you could possibly need included. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, with tons of area to spread out and explore. The pond provided hours of entertainment of swimming, fishing, catching tad poles and frogs. The yard was perfect for kick ball games and Jedi training. We loved sitting around the fire pit at night and playing games on one of the huge tables. My son found the smoker and made some awesome ribs. There is no way you could possibly describe this place without experiencing it. Best cousin camp ever!!

Great Getaway

This is an absolutely phenomenal place to stay. We were there with our children and grandchildren and we had a terrific time the whole week. This was our second trip here and it was better than the first. Denise was right there whenever we had a question. Can't wait to return.

Sugar Shack wonderland

This place is fantastic for a big group. Something for everyone no matter the age. Rustic and outdoorsy with all the new modern amenities. Our group will definitely be coming back.

Another Great Family Weekend

This was our second family weekend at Sugar Shack and are already planning to return next year. Our group ranged in age from 10 months to 88, and there was plenty of space and activities for everyone to throughly enjoy themselves. It is very clean, extremely well stocked, and Denise is great to work with. Highly recommend the Sugar Shack.

Great property with everything you need!

This was a great place to have a retreat for work. Plenty of space for everyone. Tons of seating in various areas. Lots of amenities. We cooked all meals for 20 people and had everything we needed and then some. Beautiful property and well maintained. Good communication with host. Great property - would love to rent here again!

Absolutely beautiful property and wonderful managers!!!

What a priceless gem of a location for any type of gathering. Top notch all around and perfectly appointed. Denise the manager was absolutely wonderful to work with. I've rented many types of places at many times, this one is the best, as was the experience working with Denise to set it up perfectly. If the place is available for the dates you want - do NOT look any further!!!

Amazing!!

My wife and I, our 8 children and 13 grandchildren have stayed at several houses. This was the absolute best. We would absolutely recommend this property. The lake /lagoon/pond was a huge attraction and the host was impeccable. Five stars!! The LoCoco Family

Feels like home only better!

This was our 3rd year having family together at the Sugar Shack. It has become a very special place in our hearts! Always clean, well equipped, fun for all ages! We love the pond and the game room! We love it all! The new garage door to the game room (windows) is a nice edition. Thanks Denise, you’ve been a great host! We are planning our next visit!

My hubby’s 40th

A bunch of our friends and their kids came to this location for my husbands 40th birthday celebration. We had 10 kids between the groups of us, ranging from 3-11 years and they ALL had a blast. The adults relaxed, made drinks at the bar, played poker, used the grill, and swam daily in the lake. Me needed NOTHING, the house had everything you could need. We absolutely loved it here and plan to make it annual.

Amazing Property - tons to do!

Our family had a wonderful time at the Sugar Shack! There was so much to do and explore from the woods to the shells in the river and ‘skating’ on the creek. Inside was spotlessly clean. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. We had a blast playing in the indoor game room, and there was tons of firewood for both the indoor fireplace and outdoor fire pit. There was something for everyone. Darts, ping pong, pool, foosball, basketball, even easel paper! Denise was very friendly, helpful and super responsive! This was the perfect holiday escape for our family and we can’t wait to go back! We highly recommend this property!

Best week ever...

This is an amazing property and the pictures do not do it justice. It is huge....a place for everyone...lots of toys for all ages... We simply loved staying here. It was our whole family...from 6 month old twins to grandparents. The kitchen was well stocked. There were games to play and lots of rafts etc to play with in the swimming pond. The kids spent many hours jumping off the fort in the middle. The little boys loved the basketball court. There were even tables to hold all of us for dinner. Quite the place. Highly recommend. And Denise...always quick to answer if we had a question. She was great to work with. We will be back!!!

The pictures do not do the place justice. It is huge and accommodates a good amount of people. Theres so many fun activities you can do at this place. Its a short drive from Chicago. The owners are nice and detailed with the information needed. We recommend this place and will surely be booking this place again!
