About this property
Our historic 140 year old home is a minutes walk to Downtown Flushing
.Very nice and comfortable house, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen and a comfortable living room. Our house has a 140-years history, so we tried to decorate it in the old style so that you can feel a bit of history, but with all modern amenities. We travel a lot, so we value comfort and style. On the walls of the house you can see photos from Iceland, which is our last fascination. We invite you to three comfortably furnished bedrooms with king, queen and full size beds. Each is in a different style, each with a wardrobe, table and chairs or comfortable armchairs. In the main bedroom you can watch TV lying in bed, or sit comfortably in an armchair.
You have two bathrooms - on the ground floor and on the first floor.
In the kitchen you will find all the equipment, dishes and appliances to cook, bake or simply make a delicious meal or make coffee. A large fridge will hold all your supplies. You can eat a meal in the kitchen - at the small, fold-out table or in the dining room - where there is a comfortable place for 6 or 8 people. If you don't like cooking - the nearest restaurant is only 3 minutes' walk - Jacks Place Bowling. Next 5-minute walk to Kathy's Restaurant, Little Caesar's, or a little further is the Flushing 'A' close to Riverview Park (formerly A & W), Skips, and finally the Pour House all within walking distance no more than 10 minutes.
You have a living room with two comfortable sofas, an armchair, and a 50" TV.
On the ground floor there are also laundries - two washing machines and two dryers are enough to quickly wash things after outdoor activities. If it's cold - you can turn on the heating or fireplace, in summer we have added a new air-conditioning that will help you keep cool.
On the yard - new barbecue grill, patio table with chairs, and deckchairs.

We loved the house; the beds were comfortable, and the layout was great. The kitchen was amazing; we fixed a lot of my grandson's food for the open house!
It was a cute house with a lot of charm. Love that it was close to downtown and the nearby park with the river. I like that it was pet friendly. Everything was clean and kitchen had everything you need to cook a nice meal.
Loved the house, location and host. The upstairs bedroom A/C was not working well (room farthest from the upstairs bathroom) and kitchen window near table is allowing ants in. (we stored food in microwave to avoid ants getting into it once opened)Overall good experience and would come back.
We enjoyed our stay. The owners were very receptive. The property was nice and close to town. Areas that I didn’t know was the yard you could not get to from the house so if having dogs you have to go out the front. Plus wasn’t keen on such a high dog fee.

We’re glad you enjoyed your time at our home. We always do our best to maintain good communication with our guests and make sure they have a pleasant stay.
It is true that the gate to the enclosed yard is about 7 feet from the front door. However, you can easily keep an eye on your pets from inside the house through the four windows overlooking the yard.
Regarding the pet fee, the cost was clearly listed on the booking page when you made your reservation, so I’m not sure why it is being raised as an issue now.
Thank you again for staying with us, and we wish you all the best.
Best regards,

Beautiful historic home. This is our second time staying. Anytime we are in the Flint, Flushing, Frankenmuth area we will stay here. Beautiful neighborhood, walking distance to downtown, restaurants and the riverfront.
Everything was lovely. We did have a bit of trouble with the key box. It was difficult to open. Suggestions for improvement - grab bar in the first floor bath.

Great location! Easy walking distance to the downtown Flushing area for the Candlewalk. The house was clean and looked just like the pictures. The kitchen was well-stocked with coffee and tea. Could drive to Frankenmuth for the waterpark and had a nice dinner at Johnny's Pour House.
Very nice home! What a great location, close to everything! Plenty of room to visit with family and play euchre, made some great memories! It was very close to where our family lives so they came over played some euchre and super close for them to get back home afterwards.
House was very clean, everything needed was provided and would recommend this rental for anyone headed to the Great Lakes State

About the host
Hosted by Jeffery and Sylwia Lennerth
Sylwia and I met in Oslo Norway in the Winter of 2014 and date for three years before marrying in March of 2017. I grew up just around the corner at 122 N. McKinley street and know the neighborhood very well. Graduating high school from Flushing and eventually moving away to San Antonio, Texas where we make our home.
Sylwia grew up in Wolsztyn, Poland and moved to Wroclaw, Poland for 30 years going to College, raising a family before becoming adventurous moving to Norway were we met.
Why they chose this property
Since moving away from Flushing coming back for family events and reunions if we didn't stay at my Mothers new home in Flint we had to stay at hotels in Flint away from Flushing making it difficult to spend time with friends. Originally I had the idea of purchasing a Condo to rent to friends and classmates that may want to stay in Flushing too. A few years ago a very good friend purchased the home down the street at 129 N. McKinley for him and his family with the same idea as I (I actually found the house and provided the information to my friend!).
First looking at Condominiums from my original idea it became apparent the association agreement were not friendly to setting up a VRBO so then search for a property within walking distance to downtown.
Growing up in this neighborhood in home located around the corner at 122 N. McKinley street from 1960 I really wanted to purchase that home if possible but the owner was reluctant to sell. After finding a property close to St. Roberts that we really wanted fell through, unbelievably this property became available and made the purchase!
It is just so nice to have this property so close to the home I grew up in and still be in the neighborhood where myself and friends knew where every fruit tree and raspberry patch were located! Such beautiful memories and so close to my childhood friends VRBO two houses down the street.
We now have home to come to for family and friends gatherings for a couple of weeks a year and be able to share with my friends or people from across the world that would like to enjoy Flushing too!
Hope you enjoy our home, family photos and our pictures from Iceland through the house!
