About this property

Pico is an amazing island we have to confess we believe that's one of treasures of nature, and to be completely honest we believe that the place we have the house (Calheta de Nesquim) is one of the most beautiful places in the island.
We'd like to share you some additional information both about the house and our pricing structure, as this last one is not always easy to explain with the templates we have to use for the booking sites.

We have been doing holidays in Azores for 20 years, until one day we decide to by a ruin to rebuild. After traveling to all Azorean islands we choose Pico because it's pure nature and people are really nice.

The idea was to create a place that is simple but comfortable, where you feel like if you were at home. We did it for ourselves, and the house was initially created for our vacations and family (we used to live in Lisbon by that time), then when we saw we were using it for 2 weeks during all year we decided it might be a good idea to rent it.

It would allow us to recover the investment we made in the rebuilding and share what we believe is a fantastic place to stay with other people.

The house is equipped has if we live there, and has lots of pieces that make part of our live, it's very curious that several customers when we speak with them after their stay, comment that they felt like at home :)

I'm calm and kind, and always available to do my best in order to ensure my customer have the best conditinos for their vacation.

I love to know new people and culture, and every time it's possible, and like to spend some time with the customer sharing experiences about travelling.

I was born in Oporto in 1966, and moved to Lisbon in 2000, and moved again to the Azores in 2009, where I live now in Ponta Delgada (S. Miguel)

I've made course first in arts, and than philosophy and Azorean culture

Why they chose this property

If you love the ocean and also a rural view, and look for something outside our routine , the unique environment around the house', is the perfect place for your vacations on Pico island in the Azores.

Also the house emerges from the revitalization of a ruin that after more than 30 years of abandonment, was fully recovered gaining new life.

For the reconstruction, we used local materials, incorporating the house and the magnificent scenery surrounding the area of Wineries, and you will see some really ancient artifacts.

What makes this property unique

The view from the terrace, where you can see dolphins and sometimes even whales.

Mrs, Natalia, is our local contact at Calheta de Nesquim, and this fantastic lady that takes care of the house for us, will be there to make sure you’re comfortable, provide you the key, and together with me ensure everything is aligned for a top experience.
She only speaks Portuguese, but you can be sure she will always do her best to make sure you have all necessities addressed, and Mrs. Noelia, her daughter that helps in customer reception is fluent at English.
