Great weekend getaway

Cozy and quaint cabin right on the river. Did some fishing in the backyard and also at Smith Creek in nearby Unicoi State Park. Quick drive from the cabin into Helen for morning coffee and meals. Great place to get away for a few days.

Great location and beautiful cabin

This was a wonderful stay and the cabin was prettier in person. It was right off of the river and the outdoor sounds and views were exactly what we needed for a restful vacation. Check-in was easy and everything was exactly as described. Great place to stay while you’re at Helen!

Property needs to be clean and better maintain

Location is great, the river in the back is awesome. But the property is not well maintained or clean, is dusty everywhere and a lot of things broken around including the kitchen pots.

Great place to stay!

This cabin is so nice! We loved the deck overlooking the water. We enjoyed using the fire pit. There is no washer or dryer here. I overlooked that when I booked. There is no curtains for privacy in the bedroom upstairs which is weird because it faces the road. Easy short drive to town. Overall, it was a really good place to stay.

Great house on the river

Beautiful place to stay. But you need to get better mattresses. Both bedrooms. All of us hike and it makes for a long day with no sleep . We would love to come back for a longer stay if the beds were better. And a mouse chewed up my sons backpack. Thank you again

Beautiful setting on perfect trout stream Directly above the start of tubing through Helen You can literally fish off the back deck without the disturbance of other people

Beautiful cabin

The cabin was beautiful, rustic, and clean. The location was perfect, close to town but remote enough for privacy. The only problem was low water flow in certain faucets due to the extremely cold weather, but the property manager was responsive and resolved the issue.

Perfect Location

Everything about the cabin and location is great. The only issue we had is the the yard had not been cut are weed eat. Tall grass and weeds around deck and river entrance.

Very nice place and nice location. Water pressure in the showers wasn't the greatest and had a hard time getting the slider to lock and it may be time to replace the beds you roll to the middle. Other then those small things it was a great place to stay it was our second time in this rental and will most likely return.

Hidden gem

Location, location, locatiooooonnnnn! This property is right on the river tucked away from the crowds! It’s about a 3 minute drive to one of our favorite local attractions (CRT) as well as a county road that is a great “bypass” when you want to avoid downtown traffic (heavy season) to make your way South to Cleavland. The property was clean. The rental company is SUPER accommodating and prompt with replies. Looking forward to our next stay at Elk Manor!

Beautiful Home

This home was a great location, close to Helen, well maintained, and very relaxing. Even though there were a lot of animals on the walls, I was surprised that there was no dust on them. This was a comment that was made when we were talking about how clean the home was when we arrived. Having the river there and the sound of the river put me in a great state of relaxation especially when going to sleep. I would definitely and probably will come back to this cabin.

Loved the Cabin

The process was easy. The cabin was as advertised and quite comfortable. The TV in living room was hard to navigate, but I did not rent it to watch TV. The balcony off the master was cool. Wish I had chairs for it. A broom and pot holders would be helpful. Fix dining room window nad clean well.

Needs work done at location

There are 3 broken windows in this house. Of the 2 nights I stayed, one night I slept better on the couch than I did in the master bed. The master bed mattress is shot, gone. Both sides you sink half way into the mattress. It needs to be replaced. There is not much enough lighting in the kitchen / dinning area. My wife had a hard time plugging her phone charger up due to the outlet cover was too big and bulky. The location was great. The place is beautiful. The house is nice. The owner needs to spend some money to change a few things.

Elk Manor Stay

1.Not enough information on how to work the lock. Took three hours and NUMEROUS phone calls for anyone to contact me. 2. Hair in bathroom shower drain 3. Not enough washcloths for 4 days. I was told they would bring more but they did not. 4. Gas logs would not work. Was told at first that there would be a charge for them to come out to light them. They had to come twice to work on it. I was also told by office staff that I would need to call the gas company. I finally turned gas off at the logs. They would not stay lit. 5. windows in back side of house are very dirty. I understand that they are in a damp shaded area but it has been a long while since thy have been touched. The good things: 1. The maintenance guys were very nice and accommodating (Nick and Andy) 2. The set up and location of house was perfect. 3. My friends and I enjoyed our time there despite the frustrations from the main office. I hope this review helps improve the management of their property because it really is a nice home.
