Great property for a vacation with our family. The property is beautiful and unique. Our family enjoyed waking up the horses in the pasture and the quiet surroundings. The host was very responsive and accommodating. Location is convenient to area attractions and trails.
This home is the perfect place to get away and relax. We loved sitting on the deck and reading while listening to the horses and the pigs. And the home is conveniently located near Lake Placid. Jessica was very responsive to all of our questions in advance of our trip. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Adirondacks!
Idyllic is the word that is top of mind while reflecting on our stay. Location was perfect, house was charming and comfortable, surroundings were beautiful. Keene and Keene Valley have everything you need and tons of hiking close by! We have visited many places and this part of the world is at the top of our ‘favorites list’ for sure. Jessica made everything easy and uncomplicated. Enjoyed the animals and like to think our stay helps support her important work! Highly recommend and hope to be back someday!
The farm is just as idyllic as the photos show. Jess was a great host, and we loved being around the horses and the donkey. The location in Keene Valley was ideal for the things we wanted to do, such as visiting Lake Placid, Fort Ticonderoga, and Ausable Chasm.
Some notes for anyone considering renting this property:
- Be aware that you have to walk through the second bedroom (with two beds) to get to the third bedroom (with the double bed).
- All three bedrooms are upstairs. If you are visiting in the summer, the bedrooms are likely going to be warm at night, so you may be sleeping with the windows open and box fans going. Just the way it is.
- This is an old house with all the charm and all the quirks that entails. As long as you are cool with that, you will love your visit, and it will be much more memorable than staying in a newer cabin.
Pine Brook farm was absolutely perfect for our family’s 4 night stay, we wish it had been longer! Jess was responsive and delightful and getting to see the animals on the property was really special. The house was quiet, clean and had a large kitchen, dining room, and living room. A real farmhouse experience, definitely recommend, and hope to return!
We loved everything about this house. The kitchen and large living room was perfect for our group. Their were views of the mountains and horses from every window. The trees, fields, flowers, birds, and chipmunks added an extra touch. The house was clean and everything we needed was provided. The location was absolutely perfect. Close to all the trail heads and a quick walk to Marcy field.
Our second time here. This is a well-located and unique property. The house is old but spacious. Kitchen is huge and well-equipped. The views are amazing, and the private swimming hole is a treat. The host (Jessica) is simply amazing.
We missed the part in the description about the tenant that was on property...and could see him through one of the windows of the home :-( We loved the animals and the atmosphere...very peaceful!
Jess was a wonderful host and the property was everything we hoped for and expected. Beautiful grounds and comfortable beds, great location for jumping into town, going for hikes, and the farmers market. Jess was easily reachable if need be.
The house was convient to many hiking and mountain biking trails. Short ride to Lake Placid. Enjoyed the deck with its mountain view and horse corral. Big kitchen and dining room perfect for cooking family meals.
A gorgeous farmhouse in a peaceful country setting. Pictures were entirely accurate. My friends and I had a wonderful time cooking meals together and eating around the farmhouse table. Many hikes within walking distance or short drive. Quick drive to Lake Placid shops and events. Perfect spot for an Adirondack vacation!
Fantastic, unique property...view of the horses from the living room window. Great fireplace and kitchen to relax at the end of the day. Very private...like living in your own country home. Nice touches. Jessica answered quickly when we had questions. Minutes away from snowshoeing, great hikes, cross-country skiing, ice skating, and Lake Placid...without all the hustle and bustle of living in Lake Placid--a great getaway.
We had a great time at Jessica’s house. The house was well put together, clean, and perfectly situated for a vacation in the mountains. Jessica even shoveled the walk out when it snowed, which she definitely didn’t have to do.
If you are looking for a simple farmhouse in a tranquil valley, surrounded by fields, tucked within an animal sanctuary and nestled in the mountains, then you have found it. And in these mad times, who wouldn’t be looking for that?
This trip to the Keene Valley was an amazing getaway from city living. We have never interacted or witnessed farm life so it was quite amazing to us. The house itself gets a ton of natural light in the daytime. On our last day it even snowed, making the views even better. Definitely recommend.
We came to the farm for an end of summer trip with 5 girlfriends and it was perfect! Great location for hiking, going to Noon Mark diner, the local coffee shop, and Lake Placid for a drink or walk around town. Couldn’t recommend more, I almost don’t want to share this secret with anyone :)
Surrounded by high peaks, this working farm provides a great place for exploring the Adirondack mountains. Highlights include the outdoor shower, deck, and the private swimming hole. Jess was friendly and always available. Highly recommended.
