Lakefront home with something to enjoy for every season!

Come and relax with the serenity of all that Silver Lake has to offer! We are on a quiet section of the lake, and enjoy the call of the loons. You are sure to see them swimming by as well!
In the woods on Silver Lake this modern cabin has a kitchen with microwave and all amenities including coffee maker and espresso machine. Living/dining room overlooking Silver Lake with 3 French doors opening on a nice deck for having a cup of blueberry coffee. No need to worry about finding a laundromat as there are a washer and dryer in the basement. The master bedroom, with a high queen bed, is up the open stairway overlooking the deck and lake. Books, DVDs, puzzles, and games are at your disposal. Each bedroom has its own TV/DVD. This quiet cabin is 45 minutes north of Bangor, ME between Lincoln and Lee.

Like to hike? Like to ride your four-wheeler? Like to just sit and drink blueberry coffee and do nothing?! This is the place to do it! Lots of trails right behind the house. Canoeing is a good option also. Bring your best four-legged friend and hang out at the Lake!


In the area: Also in the area are restaurants in Lincoln and Lee, with a hospital with ER in Lincoln only 9 miles away. In Lincoln also are a WalMart and Hannaford grocery. Plenty of gift shops and antique shops are in the area as well has horseback riding.

For those in a gambling mood Bangor has a casino. And Maine is also the home of Stephen King! Perhaps you will pass him on the street!

James and Diane's cabin was a little slice of paradise in rural Maine. The scenery right out the back door is absolutely breathtaking. We enjoyed listening to the calls of the loons at night while sitting on the deck with cocktails. The house was spotless and has everything you could need for your stay. We brought many things with us that we never even opened. It was even stocked with Starbucks K cups! That made my coffee loving heart very happy. They even provided upscale bath products, and had a bottle of wine and chocolates waiting for us when we arrived. One thing to keep in mind… This is not a tourist location, so you will be driving quite a distance for restaurants, etc. But that is what we wanted. Highly recommend treating yourself to a stay at this lovely home.

Great family time

We loved our stay at the cabin. It had everything we needed. We wish we could have stayed longer. Made day trips to Acadia and Gulf Hagas for hiking. And spent the rest of our time just being together. The canoe was perfect to get out on the water and see the turtles and birds. We definitely recommend it and will be back. Thank you so much.

Hidden Gem!

This hidden gem is the perfect place to unwind and relax. Right on the lake and minutes from great hiking, this place is hard to beat! Secluded yet close enough to Lincoln and Millinocket in case you need supplies or want to sample local food and beer. The water was still a bit cold so we didn't take advantage of the kayaks but would have loved to. We will surely be back another time!!

Ringing in 2024

My husband and I had a great time spending New Years in the quiet of Maine. Our stay was everything we had hoped. The house was clean, well supplied and you can’t beat the views. We especially enjoyed taking our dog with us. We love that the owners are animal lovers and their needs were considered just as much as the humans. I can not recommend this place enough and hope to return maybe at a warmer time of year to enjoy the deck and the lake. Although frozen over was a winter wonderland and very beautiful.

Marathon and Chill

Came to Maine to run a marathon. We were lucky enough to find this residence instead of a hotel. I’m glad that we did. It’s a charming cabin that is very pet friendly if you bring a pet. Chilling out on the dock and listening to the loons while boaters cruise by was very relaxing. The owner is very available and easy to communicate with. If there was any one thing that needed additional attention, it would be the cleaning. The person who does the cleaning probably needs one of those Swiffers with a telescopic pole to get the pesky cobwebs and dog hair tumbleweeds. But with that said, it’s a wonderful property that I’d love to stay at for a week or so.

The Lakefront home is absolutely wonderful! This was our 5th stay here and each time we love it more and more. Words just can’t describe the beauty of looking out over the lake while sipping coffee on the deck or listening to the loons at night from the lovely upstairs bedroom.There’s something magical about walking down to the dock and going for a kayak or canoe paddle any time you want. A review I read the first year we came said it was “right out of a Hallmark movie.” And it is. It was immaculately clean and the neighbors, Jim and Diane to the right are fabulous. We love that we can bring our dogs and we all feel right at home. We really appreciate the kindness of James, the owner, in generously sharing his special place!

Beautiful house on the lake

The host is very responsive! He went above and beyond when I asked to book and additional night! He even called, texted and messaged in VRBO, letting me know the house was ready for us to check in. The pictures of the house do not do the house justice! It is very nice! Everything had a place and it was very clean! The house has everything you need, including indoor/outdoor games and plenty of movies.The lake is absolutely peaceful. We enjoyed most of our time on the dock or on the lake canoeing and kayaking. If you are looking for peaceful time away, this is your place!

Beautiful peaceful home on lake

This property was absolutely beautiful. The homes open concept with cathedral ceilings are gorgeous. The lake view from the bedroom upstairs is so relaxing. More than i imagined. We will definitely be back to enjoy this property and all the lake has to offer. The hosts are amazing as well.

Maine Magic at Its Finest

James is an incredibly gracious host who has truly thought of every detail to make your stay special. From the personalized welcome note to a separate one just for our dog (complete with treats!), we felt warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived.The house is stocked with absolutely everything you could need—and then some. I brought so many things I never even unpacked because James already had it all covered. We drove in through a storm, turning our 5-hour trip into a 7-hour trek, but the moment we stepped inside, it was all worth it.The spacious open floor plan, high cathedral ceilings, and peaceful view of the lake created the perfect atmosphere for relaxation. The photos truly don’t do this property justice. Our teens loved the board games, and I loved curling up on the couch with a good book—it’s the coziest spot to read and recharge.Highly recommend this home for anyone looking for comfort, beauty, and thoughtful touches that make a stay unforgettable.

Maine paradise

Did not communicate with homeowners. Based rating on others. Home as stated in listing. Listing does not justify the property. The lake just outside your door, with a million dollar view. Its what most would like to see every morning with their coffee! Found it easily and will recommend to anyone that wants a little piece of Maine's paradise.

Christmas Vacation

For the second consecutive year we spent an intimate family Christmas nestled on the shores of Silver Lake at the Silver Loon Cottage. A fresh eight inches of snow made our Hallmark Christmas a reality, as did the little details James had in place for us...A Christmas tree and decorations already up for our arrival brought the biggest smile to our boys' faces...the chocolate and wine on the sideboard were a welcome sight for mom and dad after our eleven hour drive from Pennsylvania. Even our dogs (Lincoln and Rangeley...named after Maine towns) seemed to smile all week and certainly didn't miss our four cats at home. Early in the week local family visited, while on Christmas day we didn't even get out of our pajamas...We were perfectly content! Thank you James for sharing your little slice of heaven with our family, giving us a cozy escape in our very own Winter Wonderland.Aaron, Jody, Dylan, Andy, Rangeley & Lincoln.P.S. James bought the house as a retirement home. BUT he knew that retirement was a long way in the future so he outfitted it like he would like to see it and decided to rent it out so others could enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of Maine.
When we met he said he would never be able to see Maine again...as he had lived there as a young man and went to school for college there. This proves him wrong!!

Why they chose this property

We looked at homes in Vermont and New Hampshire because we thought Maine was totally out of the price range. But Maine is where we both wanted to be. He found this one on his own and I got to pick between two. This one is the winner!

What makes this property unique

Quiet, quiet, quiet!! Not in a subdivision! Lake to look out at one side and woods the other. My kind of living!
