We absolutely loved my stay at this property! It was a perfect blend of relaxation and activity, with so much to do right on-site. We found plenty of ways to unwind while also enjoying various activities. The peaceful atmosphere made it easy to escape the daily grind. The owners are great people. It was our anniversary and they gave us a bottle of wine to celebrate with.
The cabin is a perfect weekend away! From just hanging out by the fire, fishing in the ponds, seeing the animals or spending time in Hermann, you can’t ask for a more relaxing and peaceful trip! Richard and Rhonda are absolutely wonderful and we would highly recommend the cabin to others!
We had an amazing time at this kozy little getaway. We enjoyed the views and feeding the donkey and horses. It was a clean little cabin and I would definitely recommend it to others.
The property was amazing. The outside setting was beautiful and peaceful. The cabin was rustic and cozy. Very clean and well furnished. Communication with the host was prompt and informative and friendly. No problems at all. Highly recommend staying here and would most definitely rebook again
This was our first time staying at a place like this so we had no idea what to expect or what we needed and and didn't need to bring. Everything was awesome! The host had all the bases covered. The setting is beautiful and was perfect for relaxing. We will definitely be back in the future. It was a great experience.
It was a wonderful cozy place to stay! We got rained on so we didn’t get to see much of the horses or the mini cows!! Richard and Rhonda was wonderful people to talk to!! We will definitely be going back!!!
The hosts really are a highlight. They are the sweetest family. Everything was very clearly described and hosts were very helpful with communication. We would love to stay again. We loved feeding the donkeys and horses.
Very clean! I was so busy looking at the beautiful scenery that i drove past it. One of the best places we have ever stayed. I would definitely stay here again
The country cabin was perfect for our getaway time to refresh and refuel. We enjoyed walking the pastures and into the woods as well as along the road. The ponds provided a quiet time of catching a few little fish. The outdoor fire pit set the stage to enjoy the beautiful stars and moon at night.
Me and my wife enjoyed this wonderful secluded getaway! We fed the horses and donkeys, made a wonderful dinner and enjoyed peace and quiet rocking on the porch. Richard and Ronda made sure all the aspects were covered for a great stay! We couldn’t be happier and will be back again!
I really enjoyed my stay at the cabin. The owners were friendly and accommodating, but also respected my privacy. The cabin has everything you’ll need. I most enjoyed my leisurely time rocking on the porch. Highly recommend.
We had a great time. The cabin was at a good location just off of the highway. If you want to go to Herman, you may want to use the paved road. Hanging out with the horses and outside was nice. We went to Herman and Jonesburg for a day trip and hung out at the cabin playing games till late.

This place is beautiful and the cabin is large and charming. I loved having my morning coffee sitting on the porchswing listening to the birds. They have mini horses and donkeys as well as regular horses to pet and feed. We had a cookout with family and friends which was great. We will definitely come back!
My cousin and I do a yearly retreat to catch up. This cabin was the half way point for both of us so we decided to meet here. Boy were we in for a surprise! There was so much offered to do here at The Cabin. From hiking, fishing, bonfires, grilling and of course the sweet mini farm animals to feed. We are so very thankful for such a nice serene environment. A true calming experience. Thank you Richard and Rhonda and Cash for the great time! We hope to be back soon!!
Everything about our stay was top notch! Richard and Rhonda are the sweetest hosts thinking of everything from a s'mores basket to extra coffee (which we needed so thank you!). The cabin was super clean and the loft area for sleeping was spacious enough for the whole family including a pack-n-play.
The kids (5 and 1) had a blast feeding the horses and goats, playing on the seesaw, fishing, checking out the property trails and catching crawdads in the creek down the road! We ended each day with a fire in the large fire pit and watched Copper (the pony) make his nightly walk. Graham Cave State Park is also a short drive away with some beautiful trails. Look no further for a relaxing getaway with gorgeous views!
This was my second time at this cabin. This time I brought my mom and two small kiddos. The kids had a blast (again!) feeding the horses and cows, exploring the woods, and the owner was so kind to show us the new miniature horse and take us on a little ride around the property. This place is just kind of magical ---- sitting on the porch and staring out at the rolling land and the horses is so soothing. I think next time I want to go by myself. :) But seriously, just book this place. It's great for families or for couples.
This cabin was amazing. Just the break we needed! We took our two little ones and they had a blast on the seesaw, feeding the horses and checking out the fishing ponds. The place was impeccably clean and cozy. Just book now. You will not regret. Tip: Pretty much by accident, we came from St. Louis and took the long way, passing through Hermann on the way, then taking the two lane road to the cabin. Coming this way, you pass through beautiful farmland and on a wooden gravel road or a couple miles to get to the cabin, which made it seem like we were really getting away. If we had gone the other way, you would come right off highway 70, and i don't think it would have felt as quaint.
Initially, I was planning to get away from the city as kind of a personal New Year retreat/reset. In the meantime, I met a special person and invited her out. First, The pictures closely depict the space, but upon arrival the cabin exceeded my expectations. It was very clean and perfectly decorated for the holidays and we were left a bottle of sparkling wine for our NYE toast as well as ingredients for smores.
Since the weather cooperated we were able to enjoy the firepit extensively. The pit is large enough to build a fire that kept us cozy in temps that dipped into the mid 30s.
The cabin has all the supplies needed to prepare the meals we brought, you would need to bring any herb/spices beyond the basics.
I don't recall having to contact the Rowes(hosts) for anything, the instructions left in a binder were very helpful. Rhonda did stop by to feed the livestock and we had a very nice conversation with her. We ask her to turn the lights off on the garage so we could enjoy the stars more. She contacted Richard and he came by shortly thereafter to do so. They also restocked our firewood for the second night.
The cabin is on a gravel road that you access from a service road right of interstate 70, so it was easy to access. Although it sat right on the gravel road it had very little traffic which still gave a remote feeling.
We interacted with a couple of the neighbors, who were all very nice and helpful. The next door neighbor told me that I would be back, because the Rowes had a lot of return guests. I think he's right, I'll be back. He also welcomed us to hike on his 60 acres, which we already were aware of because the Rowes mentioned it in the instructions. It was nice to hear it from the source though.
Overall, this cabin provided a perfect experience. I'm sure I'll be back.
Love the whole environment the attention to detail and decor in the cabin was amazing. The s’mores basket was great. Loved seeing and petting and feeding the animals my friends and I had a great time and loved the place just what we wanted in a country getaway.
Charming and clean. It was so very nice to be able to give the kids a place to play and relax instead of trying to manage it all in a hotel room. I also appreciate that there was wood pile available for a fire and charcoal there for the grill instead of having to find those things.
