Once a Part of the Beloved Shady Oak Lodge - Cabin 2, 4 beds w/ Boat Ramp
Modern decor! Boat Ramp! Toledo Town! This cabin is the perfect place for a weekend getaway at Toledo Bend. Once a part of the beloved, highly rated Shady Oak Lodge, fisherman and families have been coming for years to enjoy this rustic log cabin nestled among trees on a quiet cove. This is the sister cabin to “Once a Part of the Beloved Shady Oak Lodge – Cabin 1”. Today, it is freshly decorated and furnished with a Boho flair. The boat ramp is shared by the original 7 Shady Oak Lodge cabins and runs right next to the property. The location is extremely convenient as we are off Pilcher Road in Lanan Bay, which is minutes from Toledo Town and Tackle, grocery store, restaurants and banks.
With hardwood floors and vaulted ceilings, this charming cabin boasts an open floor plan and is well-appointed. This cabin has all the comforts of home with a modern tribal feel. The cabin has DIRECTV and WiFi.
The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware, stove/oven, microwave, and all needed appliances except a dishwasher.
Grill out and serve your barbeque on the outdoor dining table on the back patio or at the fire pit area. The fire pit is well stocked with wood for your use. Or you can relax on the outdoor swing on the back porch.
For the fishermen, there is amble parking for your boat and outdoor plugs to charge it. And for the kids, there is large playground with several swings and a sand box. It is a shared space for Cabins 1, 2 and 3. Your kids will love exploring the grounds!
This master bedroom offers the most tranquility with a comfortable queen size bed. It is nicely furnished with quality bedding. The nights are quiet, and guests have enjoyed many restful stays.
The other bedroom has a twin over full bunk bed and another twin bed with quality bedding. The unique interior creates a cozy atmosphere.
The bathroom is chic and a nice size. It has a tub/shower combination and contains luxury towels. We supply toilet paper and paper towels (and towels and bedding). Please bring your own soap, shampoo and conditioner.
We follow an enhanced cleaning protocol. Here are a few highlights: - High-touch surfaces are sanitized - Clean each room with cleaners and disinfectants approved by health agencies - Wash ALL bedding (including comforters) after each guest In addition, we have mattress encasements and pillow protectors to protect against allergens.
The lake is outside city limits and doesn’t provide trash service. You can either take your trash with you, bring it to the Sabine Parish dumpsite which is only 3 miles away or pay $25 for us to haul it. Even residents use the dumpsite - that’s how it is on Toledo Bend.
Check out our other cabins: Cabin 1 (Listing #1449829), also a 2 bedroom that sleeps 6 with a pavilion, and Cabin 3 (Listing #9354062) a fishing tiny house that sleeps 5. Cabin 3 allows pets.
Visit the improved Shady Oak Lodge, where families and fishermen have been coming for years to find tranquility and a little piece of heaven on earth. Check in is at 4:00 pm or later on the day of arrival and check out is noon or earlier on the day of departure. There is no smoking inside the cabin. The lake is high enough to use the boat ramp. We do not have a dock, but you can tie up to the poles left of the boat ramp. The dock on the right of the boat ramp is not our property. Thanks for considering us!

Enjoyed our family vacation at the lake. Nice relaxing stay with easy access to boat ramp. Enjoyed canoeing during day and cooking s’mores at night on campfire.

Love that your family rented both cabins 1 and 2! You are our first to do that...always thought that would be so fun. What a special way to share Thanksgiving together, especially during these Covid times. Glad you enjoyed it!
The property manager Christina was very nice and friendly and easy to work with, the cabin was neat clean and very nicely decorated with all the essentials we needed for the weekend, we would definitely stay here again!!
Overall we had a great time at this location. I am going to be very fair with the pros and cons of this location
Pros:
Scenic views from the back porch
Very clean and inviting
Very comfortable beds and bedding
Convenient boat launch
New A/C unit (very efficient)
Cons:
Road to location is under construction (very dusty and muddy depending on weather)
Tough parking (very steep incline/decline)
One bathroom
No trash on site (you must haul your trash out in vehicle)
Overall we had a great time and look forward to coming back to TB.
We had a nice quiet weekend with the kids, and we’re able to catch plenty of fish off the bank. We were able to get a fire going and enjoyed the setup that was provided, and we didn’t even see any other people out there at the other cabins.
It was a well stocked and kept cabin, we definitely enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.
Cabin is clean, comfortable and owner is very responsive. Located mid lake so 10 mins or less from grocery store, tackle and fuel. Great place to stay. Parking with boat little tricky but experienced fisherman can handle with no problem. I will stay again my next trip
Great little cabin nestled in the trees on an inlet with view of the main Toledo Bend lake. The owners were quick and easy to communicate with and the home was very clean. Soft sheets and warm blankets!
Loved staying here. We had the whole place to ourselves. Nice to be able to use the pavilion with the comfortable couch and chairs, which was nice and close to the fire. The swing on the porch was my favorite spot first thing in the morning. My granddaughter of course thought the best part was the playground. We will definitely be back.
We really enjoyed the cabin and the location. It was nice, clean, and comfortable and the communication was great leading up to our stay. The ONLY thing it was missing was a place to clean fish. And there are some lights out on the back porch. Hard to grill at night. But otherwise, perfect.
This cabin and area was great for a quick weekend getaway. Everything we needed was provided and the cabin was spotless. I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a quiet place to getaway.
Property was very clean and had all the necessary items to get you through your stay. Air conditioner was great (in laws like it cold and we fought over how cold it got). The only concern was the walk to the waters edge was too steep for someone with balance or walking issues. We had a fantastic trip and would love to stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay with a family of 5 in the cozy cottage cabin 2. The cabin was very clean and the master bedroom had the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in! Thanks for a great weekend

Happy you enjoyed your stay! We agree - the location is such a difference maker. Close to Toledo Tackle and Cypress Bend for tournaments. And the grocery store too.

Wife of an amazing husband and mother of two sweet girls. My husband grew up in Laurel, Mississippi and I grew up in South Louisiana - we are Louisiana Woman and Mississippi Man! We are excited to have a house in Laurel to share with our kids and guests, plus it's super close to Mimi and Papaw. We also have 3 cabins in Many, Louisiana on Toledo Bend lake - the halfway point between Laurel and Plano, where we now live.
Each place is special to us. We walk to Mason Park from Mason and Rose Cottage to see the amazing lights at Christmas time. At our Shady Oaks Cabins, we wander around the grounds finding critters and catching brim in Toledo Bend lake. Come explore OUR happy places!
Why they chose this property
Great, quiet location. The knotty pine gives great lake vibes and the modern decor creates a special place. This cabin feels a bit like the mountains too, since it's on a hill.
