Country house full of charm for 6 people with stunning views over the sea and the north coast of the island of São Miguel. Spend unforgettable days in a magazine house, decorated with elements of the sea, very comfortable and with all the necessary amenities for your vacation.

The house has a large private garden with a lawn, deck, swimming pool, rest area and balcony with a dining table. It has 3 bedrooms (1 in passage), living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and vestibule.

Unlimited Wi-Fi, telephone for local calls and television available.

Included are sheets, towels and shower gel, shampoo and soap amenities. For your comfort, a washing machine and a dishwasher are available.

Casa do Maranhão is located in the village of Capelas, a 15-minute drive from the city of Ponta Delgada and the airport. From the house you can easily move to other points of interest on the island such as Sete Cidades Lagoon, Lagoa do Fogo, Santa Bárbara Beach, Furnas, etc ... A five minute drive has the magnificent natural pools of São Vicente.

In the village of Capelas you have everything at your disposal, supermarkets, gas station and restaurants.

We enjoyed sitting on the deck while viewing the ocean and village below. The kitchen was frustrating and I hope the hostess addresses the stove top issue. Once you pass through the gate you enter a special private space!

Beautiful house in a beautiful sourrounding. The place is well and tastefully equipped. Great garden with a tiny "pool" and spectacular views. We loved it. But there only 2 downsides: 1. The kitchen is very small and the oven (only two hot plates, which are located in the corner of the kitchen) makes cooking a bit difficult. 2. There is no sound insulation between the living room and the master bed room. Beautiful place if you decide not too cook yourself every day.

Widespread mole in the house made it hard for us to enjoy our stay (just adding a few heaters and dehumidifiers in Winter probably won’t suffice to eradicate the mole completely). There were some further, yet comparably minor issues. The bathroom was downstairs while bedrooms were upstairs. In addition, bedroom 2 lacked privacy (no door towards the staircase, access to bedroom 3 required crossing bedroom 2). Finally, there were several service issues (e.g. when we reached the house at the previously agreed time, nobody was there to meet us – it then took multiple phone calls and a wait of more than 30 minutes in darkness before someone came; there were still used towels in the house when we arrived; the deposit was only credited after 4 weeks after departure and multiple reminding messages). In our opinion, there are much better options available on São Miguel.

Thank you for your review! We are always looking forward to provide the best stay for our guests. Regarding your comments, we had a delay arriving to the house on the check-in however we call you in the first place saying that we were some minutes late. The description of the house is on our listing so we did not understand your surprise about the house configuration, bedrooms and bathroom location... The security deposit is refunded automatically after 7 days of the check-out by the website. Since you only stayed for 1 night and not 7, for courtesy we refunded you for the other 6 nights. I have to remember that we were not obligated to do that because we have a non refunded policy. Fortunately we are having other guests with different opinions and enjoying a lot the cosy house and the fantastic views. Best wishes, Casa do maranhão team.
