Nice Getaway

The Peacock House is a delightful home in an area full of restaurants, shops, groceries and a huge mall 2 miles away. The fenced in back yard with the patio chairs gave us a nice place to relax. While walking our dog one morning, we encountered a peacock roaming the neighborhood. Both dog and peacock were curious about each other. The 2 bedroom, 2 bath home was quiet and included towels, bed linens and all necessities. Our host was very responsive and helped make our stay a real joy.

Quiet neighborhood

We did see the peacock several times, he is beautiful and clearly well fed! The area is quiet but the local Melbourne beaches are nice and have basic amenities. We enjoyed Cocoa more and it was a bit of a drive to the space center. The house was very clean and well stocked. I wish the yard had a privacy fence- but it was fenced (chain link). It was perfect for our senior dog. I only wished for the privacy fence because the neighbors were pretty active outdoors.

Perfect bungalow

Charming, well stocked, first class in every way. Small two bedroom two bath in an old neighborhood with no water nearby but we knew that to begin with. Yard was fenced. Neighbors were quiet or non existent. This was our old home town so we just needed to be able to get places. It was perfect. Just off of main road so travel a couple blocks and turn right to beach or left to I-95. Every grocery store and restaurant was nearby. Maria has created a perfect little bungalow.

Great Retreat

Had an amazing time at this property, Maria was awesome in comunication and providing all our needs. We had rented a property by Jensen Beach and it was unpleasant and unlivable, we started looking for something else at the last minute and Maria was so helpful and let us in that same night, so we would not be on the street. Definitely one of the best vacation rentals we have been at, with an awesome homey feeling and personal touches and goodies, clean and fresh, even that it allows for pets couldn't feel the difference, well keep Will definitely rent again when near by. Need more hosts like her

The location of this property is in a housing addition, not expected. Convenient to grocery , shopping and dining. Beach is about 20 minutes away. This owner needs to realize, less is more. Very cluttered.

Stay in Melbourne

My family and I stayed at this home for spring break, we were very shocked at the fact that the home was very dirty, it was like no one had stayed there nor cleaned before we came, there was dust everywhere, the mirrors and windows hadn't been cleaned, I was shocked when my daughter noticed long dark, black hair in her shower, from past owners I assume. There were only two beach chairs provided for you, of which one was broken, the beach umbrella was not provided until the 4th day in our visit when we asked the owner about it, there was also a fire pot outside but no firewood, the owner only brought us the wood for the last two days of our vacation. We also had a very bad conversation with the owner once we returned home - in the home, there were candles all over the home for the use of guests, so we used up one candle during our stay and threw it away, the owner accused us of stealing the candle from her home, and said that the candles were for decor, which I don't understand, if you leave candles in your home, obviously they will be used by guests. Personally, I wouldn't recommend staying at this home in Melbourne, the money we payed for this house is simply not worth the it. Although, the location of the home is in a great neighborhood and place, it is close to many stores and restaurants like Publix, and red lobster. The beach was also a short drive, about 15 minutes.

This house has everything you need for your vacation. The two separate sitting areas were very nice. Very quiet neighborhood, close to everything. The neighborhood peacock came to visit each day. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Wonderful and welcoming

The house was in excellent location for visiting family in Melbourne and close to Publix. Very, very quiet neighborhood, lovely backyard. We did get to see one peacock. Will definitely return to this easy to find, lovely, well kept and CLEAN house. Lots of little extras that make a difference when trying to cook in "not my own' kitchen. The very best part was the two cold bottles of water in the refrigerator we discovered as we unpacked on a unseasonably warm March day.

Great spot in West Melbourne

This home was exactly what we wanted - comfortable and in a quiet neighborhood. The beds were comfortable and there's plenty of space to spread out. The backyard is very nice with comfortable chairs, grill (charcoal) and a fire pit. We like to walk and there are areas to get out for long and short walks and you can even walk to the grocery store and several restaurants. We cooked quite a bit at the house and the kitchen is well furnished (even has sharp knives - a rare find in a rental)! Maria was responsive and available if we needed her throughout the trip.

Delightful vacation getaway

This property was perfect! The location was close to shopping and restaurants and a short drive to the beach. The owner was fantastic! She had a welcome sign and basket with coffee, wine, jam, fruit and other goodies upon our arrival. The 2 bathrooms were well stocked with towels and other necessities. The bedrooms were roomy and comfortable. Also we enjoyed a fire in the backyard with the firewood supplied by the owner. We did get a look at the neighborhood peacock twice on our stay. I would recommend this property to my family and friends. A great time was had by all!!

What a wonderful home!

This home is a wonderful oasis full of interesting and eclectic decor, so well put together. It’s very clean, and the furnishings are quite comfortable and homey. The friendly neighborhood peacock came to visit several times during our stay! Maria, the owner, has thought of all the details to make sure her guests enjoy their stay. Our family made this our home away from home while we were having work done on our home in Palm Bay and were waiting on our furniture to be delivered. While we are looking forward to settling in our new home, we are sad in a way to be leaving because it was so nice to stay here. I highly recommend this home to anyone who is visiting the nearby beaches, Kennedy Space Center, etc and to locals as well for a wonderful and relaxing getaway.

By profession I am a busy realtor selling multi million dollar homes. I have thoroughly enjoyed running my adorable Airbnb. Taking the most run down home in the neighborhood and transforming it has been fun and rewarding. So far the guests have all been wonderful and I've really enjoyed it.

Why they chose this property

I love this area. The people are friendly. There are sidewalks, people are out walking their dogs and the two roaming peacocks are just beautiful to watch. They make daily visits.
You can walk to the stores, restaurants or even the mall. The beach is only a 10 minute drive and it is located minutes from the interstate. It's just a great little neighborhood and I love how peaceful it is. The back yard is so pretty. I'm always working on ways to improve it. Hopefully by next summer I can turn the little shed into an art studio.
