About this property
The Private Beach at Lakeside Park, Jacksonport, Door County, USA
This meticulously maintained three-bed room two-full bath home comfortably sleeps up to eight adults (when considering the commercial grade queen size sofa bed in the home’s great room). In addition, there is a baby crib as well as an additional sofa within the home’s second bedroom.
Property features also include the following: large deck facing the lake (offering spectacular sunrises); firepit near the beach (although fire wood is not provided, it is typically available at three roadside locations within a two block distance); gas grill for outdoor use; deck and beach chairs; heated-massage chair; natural-stone gas fireplace; central air conditioning; satellite TV and WIFI internet service; DVD player; exercise treadmill; clothes washer and dryer; outgoing mail service; central vacuum system; smoke detectors; carbon monoxide detectors; fire-extinguisher; exterior lighting; bath towels and bed linens; hair dryer; basic restroom supplies; basic soaps; basic paper products; iron and iron board; a well-equipped kitchen including refrigerator/freezer with ice maker and cold water dispenser, blender, toaster, microwave, range oven, dish washer, coffee maker, cups and glasses, dishes, pots and pans, utensils and flatware; and a dining area with patio doors to deck.
You will love the prime location! 150 feet of private sand beach located in the heart of Jacksonport. Lakeside Park is right next door and a perfect place for children to play. There are 3 very nice bedrooms with queen beds, plus the commercial grade queen size sofa bed in the home's great room. Two full bathrooms with tub/shower units. Large deck perfect for morning coffee while taking in a Door County sunrise. You will love the bright, open concept living space all on one floor. Exercise treadmill and laundry are in the very accessible basement level. Hardwood floors in dining area and living room. Well appointed full amenity kitchen with everything you need to prepare, cook and serve meals.
Lake Michigan, at this vacation home’s frontage, has a sand bottom and relatively shallow water levels. Therefore, on most sunny calm days in the summer, the water warms up quite quickly making it a great place for children to play and swim. For the scuba diving enthusiast, a few hundred feet off the property’s shore is the residual of a large dock and various vessels dating back to the 1800’s. On January 1st, each year, the adjoining Lakeside Park is the site of one of the state’s largest polar bear club plunges.
This vacation home is within easy walking distance of a range of restaurants and bars, kayak outfitters, various shops, a grocery store, coffee and ice cream shops, parks, and churches. Besides the adjoining Lakeside Park with its small watercraft launches and playground equipment; other parks, within a short two block walk, include the Erskine Rest Area with its historical little root cellar, and the sports park with its frisbee golf course, softball diamond, and soccer field. Adjoining the sports park is Jacksonport’s Town Hall (vintage 2019) which is available for events.
Just outside the village but still associated with the Town of Jacksonport are other points of interest including Whitefish Dunes State Park; Cave Point County Park (the most visited in Door County); Meridian County Park (located half way between the equator and north pole); two large inland lakes consisting of Clark Lake and Kangaroo Lake; Simon Creek Vineyard and Winery; animal farms including Waseda and Plum Loco; and various other establishments.
Beyond the town itself, Jacksonport is central to Door County. Highway 57, as well as County Trunks A and V, provide easy access to all other portions of the County. These roadways providing easy and direct access to heavier commercialized areas of the county yet allow you to easily return to a calmer village setting, Jacksonport, for which Door County has historically been known.
