Lake activities at Lake Lure will re-open on May 1, 2026 as the lake returns to full pond levels. Come be a part of the historic re-opening of Lake Lure in 2026!

Beautiful LAKEFRONT home. This home boasts a King Suite as well as four spacious gathering decks and room to spread out. Numerous indoor as well as outdoor living areas including a billiard room. Garage has been converted into a rec room with a ping pong table, foosball, giant jinga, and TV. Enormous sun deck atop a 2 stall boathouse. 2 Kayaks and 2 paddle boards (SUP) included with rental. Inquire with owner regarding rental of 20' pontoon. Sonos sound system. 3 king beds, 2 queens, 1 single, 3 roll-away beds, and 2 pack-n-play cribs. Fully stocked kitchen. Weber gas grill and charcoal grill are available for use. Our cove is nestled back from the traffic flow of the main lake allowing a safe space for children to swim away from boat traffic.

*NEW in 2022- we have just completed a stone fire pit addition to the side of our home.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! This home was perfect for our family and gave us everything we could have asked for in a getaway. The lake view was beautiful and made the perfect backdrop for relaxing and enjoying time together.We especially loved having the option to rent the boat right from the property. Spending time out on the lake was definitely one of the highlights of our trip! The game room was another huge hit with our family and gave everyone something fun to do when we weren’t outside.The house was comfortable, spacious, and had everything we needed for a memorable family vacation. We made some wonderful memories here and would absolutely stay again. We highly recommend this property for a family getaway!

My family had a wonderful stay at the house. We enjoyed the area, nature, relaxing on the lake and playing house games together. There was plenty of room, beds were comfortable and kitchen had everything we needed to prepare a few meals. We loved jumping from the dock and using the provided paddle-boards and kayaks. The owner was accessible and helpful via messaging. Be prepared for the stairs to get to the dock, but it was good exercise and provided a great lake view. Thank you! We would love to return.

This was a great property for our family. Dad, Mom and 4 teenagers. our kids were able to enjoy having their own rooms, which they loved. There were plenty of games and things to do. They loved jumping off the boathouse along with the kayaks and paddle boards. We had no complaints about anything there. If we were to be picky- the dishwasher needs some attention along with some broken tile right at the laundry entrance. (it was partially hidden by the carpet.) Our family had a wonderful time and looking at going back next year with friends.

Wow -- this was all it was advertised. The place was VERY well equipped with all the kitchen utensils -- very clean. The balconies off each bedroom was a plus each providing views of the lake. The lake was almost back to normal-- they were doing a soft opening the following week. Host was very responsive. We loved the house! So many great outdoor spaces/porches to enjoy hanging out together, enjoying some quiet time, puzzling, fire pit, enjoying the amenities,walking, etc.There were 11 in our group. And plenty of room for everyone! We enjoyed the local shops and restaurants too! Cherokee and Asheville are within driving distance. Grocery store within 15 minutes.Highly recommend!!

Great Family Vacation

This house was everything we expected, and more! The area was perfect for a family vacation. We explored the Biltmore, chimney rock state park, and are glad we rented a pontoon boat to cruise around the lake.

Wonderful place to stay on Lake Lure!

We had a great time with our family at Idle Speed! The hosts were great and the house was just perfect! Beautiful spot on the lake, very clean, lots of great porch space and hang out space! We also enjoyed being close to some great hiking spots and the Chimney Rock area.

Watching the work being done to restore the lake was fascinating. The roads were accessible between Lake Lure and both Asheville and Hendersonville. We were able to get in some apple picking on one of our trips to the Hendersonville area. The dining options were plentiful, particularly as you got closer to the weekend. The pool table and fire pit were great. Owners were very responsive when needed.

Ali was super responsive, to any and all questions. The 5 bedrooms, over three floors did an exceptional job accommodating our large family (including Grandchildren). Many great areas to gather, and the reck room was a great feature.

Amazing Home!

We absolutely loved this place. We have rented through VRBO for several years and multiple properties and we all agreed this one may have been our favorite. We want to come back in the summer and jump off the boathouse!

Golf trip

Great property, best supplied/equipped I’ve ever seen, multiple living/gathering areas, clean and tidy inside. We were 6 60 golfers that enjoyed the property immensely. The area is still struggling to recover from Helene but Kieth and Ali are on the top of their game! Highly recommend!

We would go back again. The host was very prompt with the few questions I asked. The house was in a great location for us. The house does need a deep clean. There have been very few visitors this year due to the storm damage to the lake. There are cobwebs inside and out, along with small dead insects in corners. This needs to be addressed. Overall, we loved our stay!

Summer Mini vacation

We had an absolute amazing time here! The house itself was great with the well-stocked kitchen, great bedroom layout, and fun things to do like pool and ping pong. And everyone loved the lake amenities - kayaks, paddle boards, floating water mat, and a great deck to sit and play games and just enjoy the lake. Can't wait to come back and spend more time here!

Fall Family Trip

We rented this house for our family including our grown children and grandchildren. The house is perfect! It has everything you could possibly need and more! The location on the lake is just beautiful with so much to do! My only complaint is we didn’t get to stay long enough! We definitely plan to come back again!
