5 Br/3.5 Ba. 3 KING BEDS. LAKE FRONT. FIREPIT. GAME ROOM. MULTIPLE PORCHES.

As of now, Lake Lure is not expected to be open for boating and/or swimming by summer 2025 as lake recovery and cleanup efforts are still ongoing. However, our home is good to go and ready to host. We have just reduced our rates and minimum booking nights to reflect the expected conditions. The house remains a wonderful place for gathering and creating memories. The lake and mountains are still as beautiful as ever. Thank you for your continued support of such a special small town. Please refer to the town of lake lure's website for current lake status's.

Beautiful LAKEFRONT home. This home boasts a King Suite as well as four spacious gathering decks and room to spread out. Numerous indoor as well as outdoor living areas including a billiard room. Garage has been converted into a rec room with a ping pong table, foosball, giant jinga, and TV. Enormous sun deck atop a 2 stall boathouse. 2 Kayaks and 2 paddle boards (SUP) included with rental. Inquire with owner regarding rental of 20' pontoon. Sonos sound system. 3 king beds, 2 queens, 1 single, 3 roll-away beds, and 2 pack-n-play cribs. Fully stocked kitchen. Weber gas grill and charcoal grill are available for use. Our cove is nestled back from the traffic flow of the main lake allowing a safe space for children to swim away from boat traffic.

*NEW in 2022- we have just completed a stone fire pit addition to the side of our home.

Golf trip

Great property, best supplied/equipped I’ve ever seen, multiple living/gathering areas, clean and tidy inside. We were 6 60 golfers that enjoyed the property immensely. The area is still struggling to recover from Helene but Kieth and Ali are on the top of their game! Highly recommend!

Wonderful place to stay on Lake Lure!

We had a great time with our family at Idle Speed! The hosts were great and the house was just perfect! Beautiful spot on the lake, very clean, lots of great porch space and hang out space! We also enjoyed being close to some great hiking spots and the Chimney Rock area.

Amazing Home!

We absolutely loved this place. We have rented through VRBO for several years and multiple properties and we all agreed this one may have been our favorite. We want to come back in the summer and jump off the boathouse!

Family gathering

This was an excellent choice for our family to gather for the week. The house was comfortable for all and well supplied. Lake Lure is a beautiful vacation spot and we loved all the porches and views from each bedroom. We especially enjoyed the times we took the boat out. Ali and Keith were so friendly and responsive to any questions. We would definitely recommend staying at this wonderful home on the lake.

Ali was super responsive, to any and all questions. The 5 bedrooms, over three floors did an exceptional job accommodating our large family (including Grandchildren). Many great areas to gather, and the reck room was a great feature.

Summer Mini vacation

We had an absolute amazing time here! The house itself was great with the well-stocked kitchen, great bedroom layout, and fun things to do like pool and ping pong. And everyone loved the lake amenities - kayaks, paddle boards, floating water mat, and a great deck to sit and play games and just enjoy the lake. Can't wait to come back and spend more time here!

The best family house on the lake!

This was our second stay at the house and I know we will be back again! The property is in the perfect location on the lake - close to the marina, restaurants, etc., but still tucked away for a serene vibe. We rented the pontoon and it really adds to the lake experience, but you can have so much fun on the water even without it thanks to the paddle boards, kayaks, lily pad and spacious dock. The house is equipped with everything you need for an infant/kids, which made packing so easy. Thank you, Ali and Keith, for creating such a special place!

Lake Lure Excursion

Great Property, the decks and Sun Rooms are wonderful for relaxation time. Our kids enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding. The Chimney Rock area is quite beautiful. The sidewalks do roll up early in town and there are only a few places open after 8pm.

"Enjoyed our stay at the Lake Lure cabin in North Carolina. The cabin offered a cozy retreat with well-appointed amenities. The location provided a serene atmosphere, and the cleanliness was commendable. While we had a comfortable stay, a few minor improvements could enhance the overall experience. A great getaway

Our family had a wonderful stay at Idle Speed. The accommodations were great and our kids loved the game room. We really loved how easy it was for guests to enjoy the lake with plenty of kayaks, paddle boards, and floats ready to use. The cove is perfect to hang out in the water and not have to worry about boat traffic. We would love to return!

Fall Family Trip

We rented this house for our family including our grown children and grandchildren. The house is perfect! It has everything you could possibly need and more! The location on the lake is just beautiful with so much to do! My only complaint is we didn’t get to stay long enough! We definitely plan to come back again!

Wonderful week at idle speed

Idle speed was the perfect home for our family of 10…4 children ages 5-8 and 6 adults. The house was comfortably decorated, clean, and in a great location situated in a cove, and minutes to the town of lake lure. Ali and Keith were wonderful hosts, readily available when needed.

Annual family winter vacation

We originally had reservations in Gatlinburg but due to snow and ice we had to cancel. At the last minute we looked for somewhere else to gather and came across Lake Lure. The house and village of Chimney Rock exceeded our expectations!! Our family loved the house on the lake, we will definitely be back.
