Sadly, here is someone who claims to be a host "landlord" who knows how to work the system, Hosts beware… From the moment she booked she asked to have her daughter bring her dog although we don’t allow pets, we agreed for a fee, after all, it was Christmas. The day of her arrival she complained about a light bulb being out, the kitchen light flickering, a tinny mark on a sheet and said the toaster didn’t work, I found it odd since guests had just checkout recently with no issues nevertheless, we gave her access to new sheets, got her a new toaster and replaced the light bulbs. She then complained about dead “tinny bugs” in the shower from the picture she sent, they looked like fruit flies which probably got in by leaving the sliding glass door open, it’s Florida. She then asked to have the pool heater on, when asked to pay the fee, she claimed the main reason she rented our home was due to the pool heater but that she didn't know about a fee. Funny, she wrote stating she read the rules and it clearly explains the fee and process. Once again, we gave in and gave her one day for free. Just when we thought it was all good, she called a day later to say the power outlets in the bathroom were not working. I asked to check if the GFCI outlets or the breaker had tripped, to which she replied that her husband was a handyman and since she is a "landlord" they had experience with these things. At the end, the handyman was not able to figure out what was wrong. Due to being Christmas, it took a couple of days to get an electrician to check the outlets but when he did, he found nothing wrong only the GFCI outlet in the guest's bathroom had tripped, also the reason why the toaster was not working but she forgot to mentioned the new toaster didn’t work either because the problem was not the toasters. Four days after check-in, she mentioned she bought Drano because the bathtub was slow draining, I assumed she had not used it until then. On the last day I noticed the pool heater was back on after I had turned it off the day before. I asked her if she turned on and she said no. I then reviewed the exterior camera and while I don't have a clear view, I can see her husband messing around the heater area which led me to believe he tempered with it. After all this, on her checkout day she texted claiming that in all of the vacation homes she rented they always had a referral book, I guess she hasn't heard of Google. To conclude our experience, she asked for $100 refund for her incovinience and when she did not get it, Karen decided to vent out by writing a negative review. She was determine to get back the $100 fee she paid for her daughters dog, lesson learned. Thanks for your support "Host"
