About this property
Newly Rentable, Romantic Cottage, One Block from the Beach
"The Cockpit," 11 Pochick Street, SiaSconset, is a freshly restored historic cottage built in 1899 on a lovely shelled street with very little traffic. The cottage has a lovingly tended garden, a front porch, a spacious outdoor shower, and off-street parking. It is just a short walk to Siasconset village, where the 'Sconset Market and nearby restaurants are situated. It is also just a three-minute walk to a private beach entrance! For many reasons, we can not host even your well-behaved, sweetest, hypoallergenic four-legged loves.
Space Relax in this quaint and adorable cottage, ideally located in 'Sconset on the far eastern side of Nantucket. The house has three bedrooms, one bathroom, and a brand-new kitchen with the finest appliances, including Sub Zero refrigerator drawers, a new Wolf gas range, and an English Shaw sink. We also have a blender, Kitchenaid mixer, and other gourmet cooking equipment so that you can enjoy a nice meal at home. That said, we are also a short walking distance from all of the restaurants in 'Sconset. There are cable televisions in the living room and main bedroom and wireless internet throughout the property. We have a washer and dryer (some detergent provided) and a vast outdoor clothesline to dry your clothes with the fresh Nantucket air! Our outdoor shower is also beautiful and features an antique soapstone sink just right for washing off a fish, should you be lucky enough to catch one! We also have a grill that you are welcome to use and an outdoor dining area for six people. There is enough space for two vehicles in the driveway. Please back in. Finally, there's no better way to start your day than on our little front porch with a hot cup of coffee and a fresh breeze!
Guest access Guests can access the entire house, yard, and garage to access the beach equipment.

Charming and functional! The house is attractive, well planned and efficient to use. It has all you need for a comfortably cozy week in Sconset. There is a good, up to date kitchen and grill, beach equipment, outdoor shower, quiet outdoor eating area and a mini herb garden. And it is a very short walk to Sconset village and beach.
Authentic cottage in the former Actor's Colony of Sconset. Wonderfully equipped kitchen, beautiful outdoor shower, opportunity to open all windows and skylight to the sounds of the ocean and wonderful breeze!!!

Thank you, Polly, for mentioning the Artist/Actor's history of Sconset. The gas stove and Le Cuseit pans can cook up a storm. We added the flowers this spring around the outdoor shower. It's so fun to shower in the sun above and flowers at our feet. Thank you for enjoying the cottage! K
Great cottage, perfect location (super close public beach access) and only a few blocks from the market and bus stop!
Just what we wanted! Only 2 of 3 bedrooms have AC
We loved our week at “TheCockpit”! The cottage is just as advertised. The renovated kitchen is lovely, well supplied and easy to use. We were there with our teenage daughter who also loved it. The flat screen TV was a nice addition and we watched lots of the 2024 Olympics on the rainy day. The air conditioning kept us cool on the hot muggy days and then when it was cool out we kept the doors open and enjoyed the breeze through the screen doors. We would definitely go back!
This house was the perfect quaint getaway for us. Every detail was thought of.
This house was the perfect quaint getaway for us. Every detail was thought of and the outdoor shower was a dream. Just steps from Summer House and Claudettes. Would definitely stay here again! Thank you for hosting us.
Bucket list item - checked! Rose-covered cottage stay in Sconset
We absolutely loved our stay and plan to come back next year! My husband and 2 daughters arrived with our bikes and after a long journey were happy to find some local bread and jam from our host! It was wonderful to be able to let the kids ride out to the lighthouse, down to the store for coffees and ice cream and down to the beach, on their own. From the outdoor shower to the quiet front porch, we couldn't have imagined a nicer stay.
We had the best time at the Cockpit and in Sconset. Our family of 4 enjoyed this clean, quaint cottage so very much. It had everything we needed and was just the right amount of space, updates, and unique & fun features. Kate was incredibly responsive, really kind, and so accommodating. She greeted us at the home with chocolates. Kate also had a repair man to the house to fix the clothes washer after we mentioned it, which was incredibly helpful for our family. She was so easy to work with, which I really appreciated!
The kitchen is wonderfully fantastic with every amenity you could need or want and with interesting dishes and antiques. The garden is absolutely lovely. I enjoyed working in the rockers on the front porch while watching new, vibrant flowers bloom each day and greeting neighbors walking past. Great linens, comfy bed, awesome outdoor shower, beach towels, pillows, garage for bikes, and air conditioning! It is only 2 blocks from the beach, and the Sconset Market is just a short walk for fresh produce from Bartlett Farms, ice cream, and just about any grocery needs. This sweet Sconset cottage is full of love, wonderful memories, and family happiness. We really hope to stay here again.

It was a pleasure to host Kristin and her family. The washer was not installed correctly in the spring and Kristen helped us identify what wasn’t working so the repair person could fix it properly. That was a huge help to have her insight and to be open to letting the repair person in on short notice. We would love to host them again.
My husband and I stayed here for almost three weeks with our two teenage sons. It was wonderful. Kate and Mary were both very accommodating, helpful and kind as can be. Kitchen was fully stocked, beds were comfortable. Everything worked out perfect. Would definitely return! Thank you Kate and Mary for a very memorable vacation.

It was lovely hosing Julia and her family. Great communicators. Respectful of the house. And, her boys wrote a sweet thank you note. We hope to see them again.
We would recommend treating yourself to the ultimate Sconset experience. Kate was amazing, kind and incredibly responsive to our questions. Within walking distance to the market, beach, restaurants and more. You never have to leave the village. Thank you Kate for a lovely and memorable stay.
The house is perfect for young families. Bedrooms 2 and 3 are great kids rooms. Kitchen is excellent for making meals at home. Plenty of outdoor space for dining and playtime. Brick patio with grill was perfect for cookouts and front porch was lovely to sit and listen to the waves at night. We will be back!
This cottage is about as 'Sconset as it gets. Down a lovely shell side street just off ocean, the house is a step back in time...but with a fully modern kitchen. My favorite times were sitting on the front porch with my morning coffee, having dinner with friends and family outside on the side patio, and watching a movie in the living room. The owners are absolutely fantastic, super responsive, friendly, and flexible. I totally recommend.

My mother peddled out to 'Sconset in high school and was struck with the historical rose-covered cottage and the light. She brought my father soon after they were married, and through the years, they understood that the island allowed time away from work that could focus on family and fun. As we grew, we moved from one house to another, and the grandchildren came. Today we all follow them to the island. Mary's first granddaughter and my niece, Katherine, and I are lucky enough to support my mother as she shares her houses with guests. Written by Kate, Mary's Daughter
