About this property

[Etna] Villa Francesca

Villa surrounded by greenery, at the foot of the mount Etna. It would be perfect to explore eastern Sicily's wonders, you will soon realize that this villa has a great strategic position! You can have an experience of absolute fun in a pure Sicilian style!You can explore the legendary islands of the Cyclops, their crystalline seabeds ,,, you can adventure in Lachea island, of the biggest uninhabited islands of the Cyclops with its seabeds situated between the three most enchanting basalt "Faraglioni" in all Italy! You can also easily get to Catania, a city with ancient Greek origins and with a great nightlife all year around. Two-story house located just a few minutes from ski resort and Silvestri craters, 20 minutes from the wonderful Ciclopi’s coast, 50 minutes from Taormina, 50 minutes from Ortigia and just a couple of minutes from shopping malls. For the Etna excursions, if you wish, you can pre book contacting us by email. Our friend Emanuele is a geologist, guide and teacher of environmental education and he will propose you innovative and adventurous naturalistic excursions, to rediscover the authentic contact with nature and its wonders following the hidden tracks that amaze the hearts of the adventurists!

At the ground floor of the house there are a large hall with a fireplace, a living room with dining set, a winter garden and a well equipped home-made kitchen in Sicilian style, a laundry room with bathroom
 
The upstairs includes, a large bathroom with shower, three wide bed rooms with balconies with sea and Etna view:
N. 1 Bed room with double bed and en-suite bathroom. (+ single bed by request and cradle
N. 2 Bed room with double bed and bunk bed.
N. 3 Bed room with double bed and bunk bed.
All the rooms have WiFi connection and TV.

Lovely Family Holiday

We very much enjoyed our time at Villa Francesca. The house was incredibly spacious and there were so many nice details (espresso machine!) that made our stay wonderful. When we had a question/request, the host responded almost immediately. We would love to return sometime and are grateful that we had the opportunity to stay at Villa Francesca.

Sicily holiday

Lovely property in a quiet residential area. The games toom and swimming pool were really good entertainment. Enjoyable stay , nice pkace to relax.

We have stayed in many Villa’s for our family holidays. The outside area surpasses any, diving board major hit, along with the games areas. The secret garden of ornament, plants and turtles lovely surroundings. Great central spot for trips out. Food so reasonable we eat out the full two weeks and OMG food was amazing with lot of variety. Check for local fireworks and music on as we came across them by chance. Thank you for sharing your villa we had a fabulous holiday.

Villa Fransceca

A little more away from the beaches than we thought and driving is a nightmare in Catania. Thats not a fault of the of the villa or hosts. Emma who speaks Engish was most helpful. Theres a large well stocked supermarket near by. Close to Mount Etna which worth a visit. Overhall we enjoyed our stay at the villa. The pool is deep so beware if small children in your party.

Lovely house and very friendly owners

We stayed a total of 6 days here and we had a very good time. Pool and gardens are excellent and there are many leasure activities, like pool, table tennis etc. View of Etna is also excellent. The owner is very friendly and very helpful, especially with restaurant and activity suggestions. WiFi is a little unstable though, but the owners are quick to find solutions. Our only complaint, is not the house or the owners, it is the surrounding area. There are wild dogs all over Catania, and every neighbor has a dog, and they bark constantly, from early morning to sundown. If you want to go running or biking, forget it. There are wild dogs on all nearby athletics tracks, and biking or running on the roads is suicide, the Italians drive like madmen, and I am not exaggerating. That being said, the weather is very nice, we only had rain once. Etna is only 30 mins away. And there are tonnes of restaurants nearby, both for gluten free and vegetarian diets. But all that considered, we can very strongly recommend the house!

I want to thank you for the compliments on the house ,I'm happy that you liked it and had a good time here.On the contrary, what has happened with the WIFI wasn't our fault but the telephone company's(tim)since they were experiencing some technical problems..as you know we've looked for and found another alternative internet access for you.We're always ready to help you with anything as quickly as possible.Also, we've never experienced any problem concerning the dogs.in the private street we have good neighborhood relations and those who have dogs never caused bother.By the way Catania isn't for sure a perfect city but I hope you've also enjoyed Sicily for the places and flavours that only our island can offer!

Sur les hauteurs de Catane, à seulement une trentaine de minutes de l'Etna, quartier calme, piscine agréable et de quoi occuper les jeunes et les moins jeunes. Francesca nous a conseillés de très bons restaurants.

Prachtige zeer complete ruime villa

We hebben een fantastisch verblijf gehad in de meer dan zeer complete ruime villa voorzien van alle faciliteiten! Nice and spacious. Great for kids/teenagers

The amenities like pool, pool table and table tennis were an absolute plus to keep them enter. The only negative comments I have are the beds and the general condition. The bed mattresses are way too hard, not comfortable at all at least for us. The property is dated but everything was functional. The location is great for all the excursions we planned and executed. To sum it up, if your expectations are not too high it is worthwhile to stay there.

hi Hardi ,what matters to us is that you have spent here a good holiday.I would like however to clarify some points,particularly your complaint about the mattresses and the house.The mattresses have been changed for less than a year,so they are all new and they are not cheap or low-priced products.As you said yourselves at the moment of the check out, the comment about the mattresses is an individual and subjective evaluation,as no one of our guests had never complained about that before.I need to be accurate about that, because an individual opinion risks to be considered an objective and real fact, especially considering that we bought the mattresses recently.Regarding the house,it is not an outdated place, but it is,instead, a villa with an outside space which takes inspiration from the ancient and luxurious Sicilian villas (with twenty year trees and luxurious statues).the inner space is decorated in a typical sicilian style too, so it could not be considered outdated, as it is timeless.People who have expectations that this kind of property could not fulfill or are looking for a contemporary and homologated design typical of hotels, should not choose a holiday house.Kind regards Villa Francesca

Bellissimo, curatissimo, spazioso e ben ubicato. Accoglienza gentilissima e disponibilissima.

Abbiamo prenotato Villa Francesca per due notti e tre giorni. Già dai primi contatti (col Sig. Salvo prima e con Marco dopo) ci siamo sentiti a nostro agio. Disponibili, gentili e cordialissimi. Eravamo in 11, quindi il massimo degli ospiti consentito, ma ciònonostante siamo stati molto comodi, sia per le attività diurne che per la notte. Complice la vastità degli ambienti, siano essi le zone gioco, piscina, solarium, grill e forno, o gli ambienti interni, salotto, veranda d'inverno, zona notte, i 3 bagni e doccia esterna. Tutto molto curato, elegante, assolutamente funzionante e fruibile e ambienti di ottimo gusto. Siamo stati accolti con un aperitivo di benvenuto, pasticcini e la cordialità a cui ci avevan già abituati. Abbiamo utilizzato il forno a legna, il grill, i vari giochi (biliardo, ping pogn, calciobalilla) e, ovviamente, la piscina. La villa offre un ambiente perfetto sia per il relax che per il divertimento. Sia esternamente che internamente. Se cercate un buon posto, dotato di piscina, spazioso e adeguato ad ogni esigenza, funzionale e funzionante in ogni suo aspetto, elegante, pulito, spazioso, i cui padroni di casa cordiali, disponibili e discreti al contempo (essendo la villa ad uso esclusivo)... allora avete trovato il posto giusto. Ne vale davvero la pena, sia che siete in due e sia che siete in tanti. Anzi approfitto per rinnovare i miei ringraziamenti a Salvo e Marco per tutto e invito chiunque sia interessato a far la loro conoscenza.

Semplicemente incantevole

Stupenda esperienza a Villa Francesca. Villa con piscina in una cornice di verde nonostante la stagione invernale. Casa, piscina e ambiente esterno all' altezza delle nostre aspettative e perfettamente corrispondenti alle foto. Da non sottovalutare la sala giochi nn ci si annoia mai tra una carambola una partita a calcetto o a ping pong. E' un ambiente perfetto per rilassarsi e divertirsi allo stesso tempo e vicina a luoghi turistici interessanti come l'etna, Catania o comunque a pochi minuti dalle autostrade che portano alle mete turistiche piu gettonate. Marco e Salvo ci hanno fatto sentire i ben venuti, sempre molto gentili e disponibili per qualsiasi nostra richiesta o consiglio. Altamente raccomandata. Spero di tornarci in Estate per la piscina soprattutto per fare divertire i bambini.
