This was a fantastic home for our family to do a weekend getaway. They’ve thought of everything that makes a stay special. Would be to stay again!

Very nice property. Lovely interior, very clean. Great fishing, but water is a little weedy for swimming.

Fantastic cottage and location

This cottage exceeded our expectations. Michael was a fantastic host and made sure everything was perfect. We will be staying there again. My only criticism which has nothing to do with the cottage is that the lake has too much algae (we were told this was an anomaly). Location is superb and so relaxing.

Cottage experience

Great cottage, lots of room, good amenities / canoes, kayak, lily pad for the lake. Lake has a lot of weeds.

Beautiful property and wonderful owners / property manager

We arrived at this cottage and were pleasantly surprised that the owners and property manager were present.   They were very kind in giving us a tour and letting us know about the surrounding area and activities.   The property manager Michael was very responsive with any questions we had which was very helpful prior to our stay and while we were there. The property has a beautiful view, is extremely clean, modern and has many room options available.  Some of the appreciated touches were board games and the variety of water activities for nice weather. The lake at the dock is not deep but has enough depth to still make it enjoyable.  One thing to be aware of is that there is a considerable amount of seaweed at the bottom of the water which can make it somewhat challenging to walk around in the lake. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would recommend this property.

Exceptional Property

We stayed at this property over the Easter weekend to host a small family reunion (13 people), seven of us staying overnight. The living space was spacious with lovely views of the lake, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable bedrooms with well sanitized linen and bathrooms. The main floor of the home was walker friendly, which was a bonus with our elderly parents. I would highly recommend it.

About the host

This is our home away from home. We enjoy the quietness of the waters. Primarily a fishing lake, we are not exposed to many high-speed motorized boats. We enjoy the quiet neighbourhood as well. It is on a serene street where we walk our dog, chat with the neighbours and the children can ride their bikes. There are trails minutes away for walking, running, cycling, dirt biking and snowmobiling. It is remote enough to feel like you are away from the buzzing of the city, without having to stress through endless hours of traffic, because we are so close to the city and many nearby city amenities.
We know you will also enjoy our home on the lake as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

Modern, luxurious cottage on Rice Lake with picturesque views and the most beautiful sunsets. Nestled in a tranquil neighbourhood in the historic Township of Hamilton, Ont. The lake is home to bluegill, sunfish, yellow perch, walleye, bass & muskie...the best fishing lake in Ontario. Nearby golf courses are accessible to the general public, either as fully public or semi-private courses that offer public tee times. You can typically book tee times online or by contacting the pro shops directly. Boat launching marina 5 minute drive.

What makes this property unique

Less than an hour and a half away from Toronto, 1/2hr from The Big Apple in Cobourg, Ont., 1/2hr from Costco in Peterborough, 1hr from Prince Edward wine County, 3hrs from the Peace Bridge, 3 1/2hrs from Ottawa. Get away to the lake and find great nearby activity without having to deal with long hours in traffic!
