Thank you for taking the time to write a review Jennifer! We're so happy to hear you liked the house. We appreciate how well you cared for it and would be happy to host you again should you return in the future. With best wishes, Brenda and Chelsea
We loved our stay and will be back! When we arrived we immediately felt comfortable and at home. The house was clean and the kitchen stocked with all the basics including coffee. Each room in the house was warm and inviting, truly like staying with family. The only thing we’d change is the 10 am checkout time, having an extra hour would have made it truly relaxing from check in to check out.

Thank you Kelley for the nice review and for booking one of our properties. You and your family were great guests and we hope you had a great visit to the area. Best wishes, Brenda and Chelsea
Magnificent view and blueberries ripe for the picking!
The property was nicer than expected. The photos don't do it justice. Spacious. Well-lit. On the top of the hill with trees cleared so a magnificent view of Mt. Desert Island on a clear day. The hosts are helpful. We would love to stay again in the future.
More spacious than current photos depict. Need some new photos of living room area + upstairs. We were there in July - surrounded by beautiful flowers, planted and wild! Plus blueberry fields. Gorgeous. Peaceful. Plenty of windows to lookout and enjoy the beauty. Great space for family, friends and dog. Well supplied kitchen. Excellent variety of books for many interests, including for kids. Would absolutely recommend Linda's Lookout.
Wonderful spacious comfortable home. Loved the fenced in yard for my dog. Big enough for her to run and play and securely fenced. Vista views in all directions from most parts of the house are fabulous. Met the owner, very nice gentleman. Wind storm caused power to go out and generator was supposed to automatically turn on but didn’t. Owner came by right away early in the morning and got it working. That was awesome! Property management folks are exceptional. They provide lots of great information prior to your trip, accessible and easy to deal with. Overall, really exceptional home in a wonderful peaceful area but still close to Blue Hill which is a very nice town.
Lovely home with great views. Peaceful and quiet. Close enough to shopping and dining needs without being in traffic or highly populated areas. Local dining was great, we highly recommend Blaze. The home was perfect for what we needed. Four adults (with a dog) and we had plenty of privacy from one another. The fenced area was great for our pup to play in. Be aware the neighbors dog came to visit twice he was ok with the humans and thankfully ours was in the fenced area, it seemed there wouldve been an incident had they not been seperated. Very accommodating based on last minute booking. We wish the house rules for our dog and clean up expectations were more clearly set before booking, there were a couple expectations we felt were excessive pertaining to clean up considering the added charges at booking for pet and cleaning but we understand home ownership and respectfully followed the requested protocol. We would stay again and recommend to friends and family!

Thanks for your review. We didn't realize about the neighbor's dog. Thanks for letting us know. Yes, we do expect our guests to clean up after their dogs. The dog fee goes to the owner as an incentive to continue to allow dogs. We love dogs and do realize the wording in the dog agreement is firm. Thank you for reading it through and doing such a great job cleaning up after Togo! Best wishes, Brenda and Chelsea
We rented Linda’s Lookout for a Family Reunion and everyone enjoyed themselves very much. The house is in the middle of beautiful blueberry fields, very clean, roomy and had a large deck that looked out at Cadillac Mountain. It was very relaxing and a joy to come back to after fighting the crowds at Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. We would definitely rent the house again when we’re in the area.
Every possible amenity was provided with tasteful decorations and glorious books and Maine titles, often older well known with lovely illustrations. The fenced yard let my young dog really stretch her legs after long days in her crate. The sunsets and sunrise over the wide vista of Bluehill is enchanting .
Linda’s Lookout was an incredible. A great place to stay for unbeatable views. A great central location. Easy access to Blue Hill and Deer Isle. Great hiking near by in Brooklin at Harriman Point Preserve. The Activity Shop in Blue Hill delivered Kayaks to Walker Pond for us. A great local spot with beautiful natural scenery and great pond swimming.
The house itself is great. Plenty of room. Very clean. Incredibly dog friendly. Everything you need in a home away from home. We loved our stay here and would come back. Honestly the best rental experience we’ve had in Maine.
We were 6 adults, 3 couples, and a dog. This house was perfect for us. Plenty of room (4 bedrooms, 3 w/ double/queen beds), well stocked kitchen, lots of space in the living area to spread out. There were a couple of extremely minor problems which were sorted out immediately; the managers and the owner were very responsive.
The home is on a very quiet road with a lovely fenced yard, great for the dog. I enjoyed going out one night to look at the stars as it is very dark, not like the city where we live.
We both cooked in and ate out. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils, pots, pans, etc. as well as some of the basics like flour and sugar. The dog was welcomed with treats and the humans were welcomed with a bag of coffee.
The only minor downside is that if you want to go to Acadia, it's a solid hour away, depending on where in Acadia you are going. There is lots to do in the Blue Hill area and it is stunningly beautiful, but it's a drive to get pretty much anywhere else.
All in all, highly recommended.

About the host
Hosted by Chelsea and Brenda Horton
We represent private property owners to manage their rental properties for short-term rentals on Maine’s beautiful Blue Hill Peninsula. Enjoy peace of mind when you rent with our locally-owned company. Know that what you see online is what you will enjoy in person and that we'll be there when you need us. All of our properties are available during the summer months with some also available for winter rentals.
Why they chose this property
As described by the Blue Hill Chamber of Commerce: The Blue Hill Peninsula encompasses the towns of Blue Hill, Brooklin, Brooksville, Castine, Penobscot, Sedgwick, and Surry and serves as the gateway to Little Deer Isle, Deer Isle, and Stonington. Blue Hill is the largest town and is the region’s service center. The landscape here is marked by sweeping views of the blueberry barrens and the sea. Tucked in among the ridges, valleys, and jagged coastline, you’ll find adventure of all kinds, from a day on the water and an evening of live music to a solitary morning walk and an afternoon of gallery tours and shopping.
You’ll find our communities to be diverse, independent yet interconnected. In all of these places, you may strike up a conversation with a lobsterman, boatbuilder, or sailor who knows these waters like the back of their hand. In all of these places, you will find locally sourced food and highly skilled craftspeople and artists. In all of these places, you will find evidence of the resourcefulness, dry wit, and creativity that has defined our region’s culture for centuries.
This region was settled in the mid-1700s, and its early economy centered around shipbuilding and quarrying. Lumbering, lobstering, fishing, and farming have played an important role in our economy and culture since the earliest days. By the late 1800’s the region had become a summer destination. Today, many of these industries coexist with a thriving art, music, and food scene to create this unique place called The Blue Hill Peninsula.
What makes this property unique
