Buttermilk Lodge - "Goulane" a 2 Bedroom Apartment, with its own private entrance (up one flight of outdoor stairs) is located at the rear of Buttermilk Lodge on the Westport Road at the edge of Clifden town. It's a quiet location yet only a short walk to town.
There are two bedrooms –
Bedroom One has a large ensuite shower room, with large shower, washbasin and toilet, a Superking-size (6ft) dressed bed, TV, lots of storage, desk, tv, hairdryer etc.
Bedroom Two has a dressed King -size (5ft) bed, TV, lots of storage, desk, tv, hairdryer, iron & ironing board etc. It is directly opposite the main bathroom which has a power shower, bathtub, toilet, washbasin and storage.
Towels and toiletries are supplied.

The kitchen / diner is fully equipped for your stay with a washer/dryer, microwave, fridge-freezer, toaster, blender, Dolce Gusto coffee machine , safe etc. On arrival there will be complimentary cereals, juice, water, tea , coffee, homemade cake & bread, fresh milk , condiments etc
The living area is fully furnished with a large flat screen tv, electric fireplace, books, lots of local information , walking guides etc
There is WiFi throughout.
Please note: we do not cater for children under 12 years and no pets are allowed.

Great location! Very clean!

Beautiful lodge in a beautiful location. Neat, clean, well stocked kitchen. Our hosts were very accommodating. Easy walk into Clifden. Would definitely stay here again.

Patrick is a local from 3 miles out the road and Cathriona is from the east of County Galway ! They have been in the hospitality business for many years and also enjoy farming their land nearby where they raise Connemara Blackface Sheep and Connemara Ponies.

Why they chose this property

We purchased this site in 1996 and opened our guesthouse in 1997. In 2019 we developed this apartment and began renting in 2019. It has proved very popular with many repeat guests and is decorated and updated annually. In 2024 we changed the Guesthouse to other self catering apartments also.

What makes this property unique

The apartment has its own private entrance with parking nearby, it's in a quiet location but walking distance to Clifden town. It is spacious and beautifully decorated with your comfort in mind. Guests have use of the rear garden where there is outdoor seating etc.
