Make this bright and spacious home your next beach retreat! License to Chill, a four-bedroom house located on the sandy white beaches of Dauphin Island. With beach access directly behind the house and a partially covered and comfortably furnished deck overlooking the Gulf, this home is ready for hosting a retreat to the beach. All one floor, the home features the master bedroom on one side of the house (with its own en suite bathroom) next to the bedroom featuring two double beds. Across the living room, guests can enjoy two more bedrooms with king beds - one has an en suite bathroom while the other has a bathroom right next door.

Enjoy a little vitamin D and splash in the Gulf of Mexico just steps behind the house. Take a day and take a ride on the ferry( just under six miles away) and head over to Fort Morgan and check out the Historic Site where you can find historical exhibits, nature areas, a boat launch, picnic area, and beaches for visitors to enjoy. The home is also within four miles of many delicious restaurants like Islanders, Reel Deal BBQ, and Dority's Bar & Grill!

We had an absolute blast at this beachfront vacation house! The views were spectacular! The house was comfortable and perfectly situated to enjoy the beach. There's plenty of @2couldn’t have asked for a better spot to relax and make memories. Highly recommend this gem for anyone looking for a dreamy coastal escape!

Wonderful Vacation!!

We had 9 adults and 1 child. There was plenty of room for everyone. The patio is great for eating meals, playing games and relaxing while enjoying the view of the ocean. We loved being so close to the beach. We had a great time and will definitely come back!!

Great getaway for 3 couples

We loved the house! It was perfect for 3 couples - plenty of space, great deck space, loved walking down the steps and being on the beach. Saw lots of dolphins! Great space for game playing in the evenings. We all said we would be happy to come back and stay at "License to Chill" again! (We did have an issue with the grill not working and it was replaced quickly, however that grill didn't work and we didn't a call back on that.)

Fantastic Stay!

This is a beautiful home with space enough for 10. The house was clean and loved that it was right on the beach. Waking up and sitting on the covered deck and then hanging out there in the evening was so relaxing. Also the use of the beach tent they had was a lifesaver from the summer sun. We saw dolphins everyday and loved the location further down the island. It was next to a public swim area, however we had no problems with people taking the beach in front of us. There are only a few small things I would like as a quest at this specific beach house that would make me want to come back every year. Beach towels, I know it sounds minimal but these are bulky to pack and have been offered at all other beach houses I have stayed. Trash cans in the bathrooms and a few basics in the kitchen like foil or wrap would be nice. None of these are game changers, they would just make this house a 10/10!!!!

Great location

The house is right on the water with a nice big deck to sit on and enjoy the ocean views and sounds. The house has a great lay out and is spacious for a large group. The kitchen has enough utensils and pots and pans to cook a good meal but for one good sauce pan and pasta pot, the quality is poor. While we enjoyed our stay and the house, it could use a little tlc. Most of the shelves in the upper cabinets can’t be used because they are missing pegs that keep them in place. The walls are scuffed and could really use some paint. As so many previous guests have commented, the curtains in the ocean bedrooms are so sheer you are forced to wake up with the birds. We had a few questions during our stay and Vacasa was very responsive.

Beautiful!! The views are amazing. It had plenty of dishs, pot and pans, and utensils. Neighbors are very nice. Not big crowds, got to see surfers and dauphins. It was very clean. I have found my favorite place to visit.

Amazin’ Stay

We had an amazing stay at License to Chill!! We loved this house. It was bright and spacious! We loved having all the glass doors over looking the ocean! We would definitely book this house again. We loved the large porch and being able to step off the steps onto the beach. The kitchen pots, pans, plates, glasses and utensils were more than adequate for our large family! We had plenty of bath towels, wash clothes, hair dryers, extra blanket and pillows. There was an ironing board and iron. The sand toys were a bonus. We knew from previous reviews that we needed to bring our own spices, groceries, coffee filters, extra toilet paper(we ended up not needing), extra paper towels, extra trash bags, extra dish soap, so we planned and made a stop by Aldi. There was even a grill, but we did not end up using it. Highly recommend!!

Read this before you book!!!

I have used VRBO to book our MANY family vacations for over 6 years now. I have never had a bad experience, nor gave a bad review until now. This property is managed by Vacasa. Upon arrival, the first thing we noticed is how close you are to the water. This little island is beautiful and we were so excited! As we carried our luggage up the stairs we were greeted by 2 large Palmetto Cockroaches. Because the were outside we initially brushed it off. Entering the property it was okay, furniture in the living room needs a MAJOR upgrade as does the Mattress in both of the rooms that lead out onto the deck. Kitchen is minimally stocked. The home had a weird musty smell. At the time I felt the location and views made up for it.... until we started seeing german cockroaches- In all areas of the home. As we inspected further we noticed mold, possibly black mold, coming out of the vents in the bedroom. Water damage was noted on the return air vent right near the washer/dryer area. The washer had mold as well and needs to be DEEP cleaned asap! Our internet was out several times we were there. Most of the lights(lamps) and TVs were unplugged when we arrived which was odd. The bed frame is one room is broken- we ended up sleeping on an air mattress. The stairs leading to the beach are seriously scary. They need repair asap. The are not propertly installed and are on the verge of failure. This place needs some major TLC. We packed up with our infant 2 days after arriving.

Great stay on the beach

It was a wonderful stay. The cushioned chairs on the deck and powered leather recliners in the house were so comfortable. The view was awesome, seeing dolphins right off the shore and watching the pelicans dive for fish.

This house was amazing! Dauphin Island is so relaxing. This home was an excellent location to watch dolphins daily in the Gulf. Grandkid adventure

This house was beautiful with an amazing view ! It was our first trip to the island and loved everything about it ! The house was comfortable and accommodated our group of 12! The porch was great , well furnished and locked ! The grandkids had a blast ! We do feel the house had a few maintenance issues ,the rusted out of commission outdoor shower( had old water hose) squeaking bunk beds, no working blender or scissors and the need for serving bowels for 12 but overall it was probably our best beach trip ever !
