Private and Serene

The cabin was perfect and had every amenity we needed! And the proximity to the trailhead was mind blowing. We hiked every morning and then simply walked back to the cabin. This was a very safe neighborhood tucked away up in unincorporated Suches and we will definitely be back next year!!

Walk to Appalachian Trail!

We loved our stay at Kay's Kabin! The cabin was very clean, the beds are super comfy. The neighborhood is very quiet and tucked in a little hollow in the mountains. The best part for us was how close it was to the Appalachian Trail. You can walk out the door and be on the AT in 10 minutes!

Great cabin

House was clean and the Fireplace kept us warm when the electricity was being rolled by the electric company because of the 100year winter storm. Maybe have a little more firewood available for guest , but overall a great house, nicely decorated for Christmas!!

What we ordered

Cabin was as advertised. Unable to access Amazon Prime TV with our own fire tv due to being blocked by PIN number. Good location if you plan to ride the Gauntlet.

Just right for this trip

The cabin is very nice. Clean and has everything you would need to accommodate you on vacation. I would love to have a King bed in the upstairs loft area. But the Queen bed was OK. The floors are very clean and I love all the wood in the cabin. It’s very nicely decorated. We were able to have a fire outside in the fire ring and we enjoyed that. The drive to Dahlonega or Blue Ridge is about 45 minutes. But usually you only do that there for the day and back home that evening. It’s quite, but there are houses around you on the loop. We have stayed here twice. I recommend it. The kids loved it as well. We had 4 adults and 4 kids. The drive way is steep and two vehicles fit in without a problem.

Nice cabin

This property is extremely hard to get to. More than 15 miles of twisting and turning roads off the main highway. You must travel these roads anytime you leave the property. There is no level ground anywhere on the property, not even for parking. You must park at an extreme angle. The cabin was clean with a well stocked kitchen. The loft bathrooms' hot water faucet didn't work and the owner was aware of it. Why would he rent this property without fixing it first? We left early due to these issues. This rental will not be on our list for a return visit.

Late

Check in was not available at 3 pm as stated . Waited on porch till 4:30 . Jenny the cleaner was working hard and was nice . She had double work load as previous visitors had very hairy . . dogs. Hair everywhere. Had to take blankets and spreads home to wash . Sheets on bed but nothing else . Never saw the complimentary bottle of wine . Benny came back later that night with clean blankets so we made the beds. Porch a mess with cigarette ash . Not a good beginning !!

Nice cabin with exceptions

The nice parts:2 bedrooms on the main floor with a very nice bedroom and bathroom upstairs. The decor was very nice.Beds were comfortable. The porches were awesome. There was a pond on the property stocked with rainbow trout. They were beautiful. The exceptions:Pictures on website are misleading. The photos give you the perception that you’re on somewhat level ground for the most part. Not even close. If you’re not careful pulling onto the property, you can have serious issues getting out. Steep incline and poor gravel surface can create a traction issue. If you’re not driving a four wheel drive, you could get stuck. We parked along the side (less sloped area) of the driveway. We did not have any issues. We backed into that spot daily, to avoid the slope of the main entrance. Mobility scooter was useless on the property. While showering the first night, 2 minutes into the shower, we lost hot water. We could get it back briefly, only to loose it again and again, which became a nuisance. Texted owner, who sent plumber out next afternoon. Which did not resolve the problem. The issue was continuous our entire stay. Communications continued with owner, with no resolution.

My son Devon and I own Kays Kabin. We live in Chattanooga Tn. My late mother Kaye Perry bought this property in 1998. In Dec. 2007 we tore down the old cabin and had Rocky Mtn. Builders-Adam Gilreath and Chris Steele build this new one. I highly recommend them as they are my good friends now. We have a tile business so we were able to do lots of work ourselves. This is our 'Dream Cabin' that we visit at least once a month, with our family and friends. When I try to tell people about Suches, it's hard to put it into words. This place is special, the people are unbelievably friendly. Everyone who comes here loves it and wants to come back. We hope you will too. Thanks for your inquiry! Richard

Why they chose this property

What makes this property unique

The Cabin benefits: Appalachian Trail just out the front door. The Hammock, I can't explain it, you just have to experience it yourself. Memories made around
'The Fire Pit', and early morning coffee while gazing at the fish are unique benefits that our cabin offers.
