Beautiful, spacious family house close to village amenities and harbour/beach

Newlands is a fantastic, family home built by its present owners near the centre of Bembridge yet enjoying a very peaceful location. This extremely spacious home has parking for several cars and a fully enclosed, well stocked private garden with large terrace. The ground floor has a huge, open kitchen and family dining area with two sets of bi-fold doors overlooking the garden that can be opened to dine 'al fresco' without even moving the dining table! There is a lounge with French doors to the rear terrace and woodburning stove, a music room and a large hallway. Newlands has five bedrooms over two upper floors, two of them ensuite. There are two family bathrooms and washing/drying facilities on the middle floor.

Newlands is perfectly suited to large families. Travel cot, highchair and other provisions are available for those with young children. Well-behaved dogs are welcome (subject to small extra charge) within the ground floor area of the house. The lovely shops and facilities within Bembridge are a flat 200m walk away while the beaches are only a 10 minute walk away and welcome dogs and children alike all year round. Bikes and a laser dinghy may be available for use upon request. Bembridge itself has much to offer while the English Heritage sites of Osbourne House and Carisbrooke Castle are just a couple of the many interesting places to visit around the island. The Island is a fantastic place for walking, cycling and watersports and is fast becoming a great place to both buy and taste locally made produce.

We are a family with two active sons and two very active dogs that have lived in Bembridge for over ten years. Indeed, three of the four of us are born and bred here! Before we moved to the mainland due to work commitments, Newlands was our family home and we still see it as such. As a family, we sail, cycle, walk and enjoy music amidst many other activities. We visit frequently using a small separate section of the house and still enjoy the Island now as privileged visitors!

Why they chose this property

Newlands is perfectly located down a quiet road, close to the village centre and all its amenities. There is lots of parking, and a large garden (at its best in late Spring). Bembridge itself is a friendly village with lovely independent shops and plenty of things to do so you never have to leave! Many people come to Bembridge year after year and, having been permanent residents ourselves for a good while, we can guarantee it is a great place to stay!

What makes this property unique

Visitors love the space and often remark that Newlands is much larger than they even expected and had everything they needed. Bembridge is surrounded by remarkably quiet beaches, even in the height of summer and the Isle of Wight has some lovely unspoilt areas to walk and enjoy. The island is very proud of its local food producers and has some lovely places to visit including Carisbrooke Castle and Osbourne House.
