Villa d'Or is a refined historic residence dating back to the 17th century. Characterized by the typical structure of the Venetian Villas of the time, it is the ideal place to relax with the family with a unique view of the Valbelluna at the foot of the Dolomites.

Characterized by the typical structure of the Venetian Villas of the time, with a central body decorated with a splendid tympanum and two side wings with large fireplaces, the building is spread over three levels and can accommodate up to five guests.

The large garden with table and chairs allows you to relax while enjoying the splendid panorama.

You will have access and availability of the whole house, arranged as follows:

LIVING AREA

The frescoed entrance connects the rooms of the living area. On the left, the cozy living room has 2 sofas where you can relax in front of the fireplace; on the right we find the dining room with a large wooden table and a comfortable wooden cupboard equipped with all the crockery; adjacent is the fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and wine cellar; the floor is completed by the bathroom in the living area and a pantry room with a washing machine corner.

SLEEPING AREA

By accessing the first floor you arrive at the most panoramic point of Villa d'Or. In fact, the central hallway, completely frescoed, is equipped with windows and two terraces that allow you to admire the beauty of the Dolomites, the Pre-Alps and Valbelluna to the fullest.

On the floor, there is a night bathroom with shower, a double bedroom and a single bedroom with original period furniture.

On the upper floor of the main building there is the other double bedroom with bathroom with shower.

GARDEN

The property includes a large garden with a gazebo with table and chairs where you can relax while enjoying the splendid panorama.

The ancient village of Mel is located in the center of Valbelluna, equidistant from the most famous centers of Feltre and Belluno, has its roots in ancient history and has always been the undisputed protagonist of the valley's cultural life.

Villa d'Or stands on the hill overlooking the center of the small town of Marcador offering calm, tranquility and a magnificent view of the Valbelluna and the Dolomites.

Easy to reach, it has ample parking.

The convenient location offers the opportunity to enjoy the gentle slopes of the Pre-Alps, the extraordinary beauty of the Dolomites, the Prosecco hills, Lake Santa Croce and all the wonderful villages of the Veneto within a short distance.

The Nevegal ski area is 30 minutes away and the splendid and renowned Dolomiti Superski areas are one hour away.

We truly loved our stay in Mel. Nicola was a wonderful host. He gave many good suggestions and was always happy to help. We were able to visit many beautiful areas within an hour from the home. The house was easy to get to. Amazing Views from this beautiful home situated on a hill overlooking the town.

A wonderful villa near the mountains

Villa d'Or is beautifully and immaculately restored, with all the modern conveniences but keeping a rustic feel. The view is amazing, perched on top of a hill facing the Dolomites. Nicola has thought of everything, with plenty of brochures of what to do in the area. The kitchen is generously stalked with all those little things, you just have to buy the food. I was presented with fresh flowers upon arrival and they have the best neighbors in the world! The property has a canopy and table and chairs and also lawn chairs to sit out and enjoy the view. A great place to get away from all the tourist crowds. The town of Mel is small, but that is what makes it charming.

Fantastische Lage am Fuße der südlichen Dolomiten

Sehr geschmackvoll und komplett eingerichtet und ausgestattet. Der Vermiter Nicola wohnt direkt benachbart und hilft immer sofort bei jedem kleinen Problem oder bei FRage nach Empfehlungen. Andererseits lassen er und seine junge kleine Familie einen komplett alleine und privat wenn man keine Anliegen hat. Wir würden jederzeit wieder hinfahren.

Super schöne kleine Villa mit toller Aussicht

Mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail restauriertes Haus. Der Vermieter hat es gut verstanden, den Charme der alten Villa zu erhalten und trotzdem alle Annehmlichkeiten einer modernen Ferienwohnung zu bieten. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen. Der Vermieter ist nett, hilfsbereit und gibt hervorragende Tipps. Die Villa liegt landschaftlich sehr schön mit tollem Blick auf die Berge. Ausflugsziele wie Venedig, Trento, Treviso oder Cortina sind alle gut mit dem Auto erreichbar. Klare Urlaubsempfehlung.

Abwechslungsreicher Urlaub

Liebevoll restaurierte Villa aus dem 15. Jahrhundert mit sehr nettem Gastgeber! Superpanoramablick zu den Dolomiten und über die Dörfer. Ruhig gelegen außer der Hahn nebenan schreit manchmal zu oft. Ein Auto ist notwendig um die Umgebung zu erkunden.

Perfect holiday in a perfect house

Nicola's house is amazing. The house is beautiful. The surroundings are great. Nicolas lives in next to the house he rents and the garden is a kind of common. This was in fact not disturbing at all. t was rather an advantage as he was around when we needed some info on the area. Renting this house = the thing to do. Thank you for this great stay.

Wir haben einen schönen, entspannten Urlaub bei Nicola verbracht. Die Covid 19 Maßnahmen hat er super umgesetzt. Das Haus hat, wie beschrieben, eine fantastische Lage. Die Auffahrt zum Haus ist sehr steil und schmal, wir hatten etwas Schwierigkeiten mit unserem Bus hoch zu fahren aber dieses Problem gibt es nahezu überall in den Bergen. Die Bilder versprechen nicht zu viel, die Realität ist allerdings noch viel beeindruckender. Es ist ein super Ort um zu entschleunigen. Ein Auto ist unbedingt notwendig, für viele Sehenswürdigkeiten/Wanderziele muss man weiter fahren. Nicola ist ein super Host, hat alle unsere Fragen beantwortet und darüber hinaus uns viele Tipps gegeben. Wir können einen Urlaub in Venetien und speziell in der Villa d`Or nur empfehlen - auch im Corona-Sommer 2020. Wir haben uns genauso sicher wie zuhause gefühlt.

What a magical place!

We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at Villa D’ Or. The photos and description didn’t come close to explaining this masterpiece. Nicola and his family restored a 16th century barn/home into an amazing villa that you must experience to understand. Money alone could replicate property. It’s location is perfect to explore the Dolomites, it appointments are perfect to rest and relax after a day of exploring and it history provides such a perfect prospect from which to contemplate one’s next move! But the true treasure of Villa D’Or is Nicole and his passion to provide travelers with warmth, friendship and local knowledge. We were so comfortable knowing that we could call on him for anything - even though we never did.

King of the castle

This place is really the best we ever stayed in in Italy. The pictures are only showing you a glimpse of reality. This place rocks. It has a great equipment, better looks and stunning over valley views. The garden is large and it is easy to reach. Dolomites around the corner, Venice nearby. The hosts are nice and warm. Beautiful building on a perfect location

The Villa d'or is really a magnificent building, perfectly restored in an intelligent way with discreet touches of modern comfort and tons of respect for the past. Contrary to many other holiday cottages this building really has a heart and lots of character. All rooms are spacious, the view on the dolomites is splendid and the neighborhood is quiet. The kitchen is very well equipped and the living room has a very useful range of documentation and books on the region. Nicola is the perfect host and is always ready to help. We did excursions to Verona, Trento, Venice and Monte Grappa, as well ad some mid-long walks in various parts of the dolomites. The only bad thing about this place as that holidays fly by even faster :-). YD, Belgium

Excellent! Live like an Italian king!! Rural Italy with beautiful mountains as a backdrop.

The house on top of the hill as shown in the beautiful picture is as beautiful in reality, actually even better. Nicola was a great, welcoming host. He just lives next door. The house is spacious, solid and grand. Very historic. Made me feel like a noble feudal landlord. The house commands a grand 270 degree view of the sprawling valley and the Dolomite mountains beyond. It’s an uplifting experience. Just 5 minute drive there is a grocery store and a pizzeria. I think it’s bit of a hike to walk there. The small cute town of Mel is about 10 minute drive. Belluno is about 20 minutes drive – gorgeous fairy tale mideaval city. It was pretty hot. The house has no AC and the windows have no screens. The breeze comes in through the windows but so do the mosquitos. Mostquitos kept us awake all night. We cooked sometimes. The kitchen is well stocked. TV did not have any English channels, only a few Italian and local channels. Wifi worked well. Plenty of activities to do nearby. Need a car though. Cortina in the Dolomites was spectacular, about a 2 hour gorgeous, memorable drive through steep valleys. Went for a 45 minute drive to the proseco country to taste the vintage bubblies. A group would be ideal. Five star house, five star stay.

Großartiges Haus mit fantastischer Aussicht

Wir (2 Erwachsene + 2 Kleinkinder) hatten eine wunderbare Woche in der Villa d'Or. Das Haus ist mit außergewöhnlicher Liebe zum Detail restauriert und in einem hervorragenden Zustand. Alle Dinge die man braucht sind vor Ort, für ein Ferienhaus ungewöhnlich wertig und funktionieren einwandfrei. Nur einen Kinderstuhl gab es nicht, für uns war das aber kein Problem. Im Garten lässt sich ganz gut mit den Kinder spielen, die Nachbarn haben auch eine Schaukel die wir benutzen durften. Spielpätze gibt es in Mel oder z.B. in Sedico (neben dem Lidl, das ist praktisch). Von der Terasse hat man eine fantastische Aussicht auf das Tal und v.a. die Südseite der Dolomiten, mit dem Auto ist man schnell im Ortskern von Mel (5min) oder Belluno (~20min) und es gibt fußläufig z.B. zwei Supermärkte und eine sehr gute Eisdiele. Wir sind v.a. viel Rad gefahren - das geht sehr gut, da viele gut beschilderte Möglichkeiten mit wenig Verkehr (Navi braucht man nicht, Höhenmeter sind natürlich einzuplanen). Nicola war super nett und der ganze Aufenthalt samt Übergaben völllig unkompliziert!

Beautiful home -- breathtaking views!!!

This is one of the most thoughtfully designed and decorated homes with an unbelievable view. It far exceeded our expectations (which were already high) and we hope to return. Spent 4 nights here with 3 generations (ranging in age from 21 to 81) and enjoyed every minute. Had some beautiful hikes in the Dolomites, but I think our favorite part was sitting outside at this home drinking coffee and wine and enjoying the view. Nicola is a wonderful host and we are grateful that we got to spend time in his beautiful home.

Relaxing and rewarding holiday that exceeded expectations

The views from the house are truly fantastic and the house itself is both spacious and well equipped. The character of the property is visible through the sympathetic restoration and if it was in the U.K. would surely be a contender for "Restoration Man" . Two of us are keen cyclists and the climbs nearby passo boldo and Pradarego as well as Cima Grappa( 1 hour by car) and the Dolomites (90 mins by car) Pordoi, Sella Campolongo etc...😅 Are both challenging and spectacular Highlights and day trips in no particular order included A) Cima Grappa as tourists(not cyclists) really interesting B) Venice -awesome (but prebook your tickets to st marks to avoid queues) C) Dolomites festival of music (summer) - unreal D) Belluno - really relaxing atmosphere for shopping - and eating E) San Martin de cortezzo F) sportful factory outlet in fonzano for cyclists G) Prosecco wine region H) hours spent relaxing in the garden You do need a car - we travelled from London and stopped in Germany on the way down and France on the way back. We have been to Tuscany previously and enjoyed it but Veneto is as good if not better and we couldn't recommend both Villa D'Or and the area highly enough.

A beautiful house with a magnificent view on the mountains!

The house was absolutely perfect and clean. Nice furniture, modern kitchen and bathrooms and always cool inside thanks to the thick walls. The owner - Nicola - is very friendly and always ready to help you! A lot of hiking possibilities in the neighbourhood or in the Dolomites (+/- 1 h) and Venice within 1 hour! We loved it!

The villa d'Or is an execellent place for a vacation. We spend a week in july There. We were 3 generations together. The House is very beautiful. Very Nice restored. Execellent view and Nicola is a good and responsible host, answering your mails or texts, and Giving good suggestions for tours and restaurants. We Will suggest a couple of bicycles in the House. A holiday to remember

Everything was great. The house, the decoration, the location were all perfect. This was our first visit to Mel. We went to Venice which was about one and a half hour away and to Milan which was a bit further. Nicola was a perfect host and helped us a lot with finding the right restaurant and supermarket. It´s a dream

Dear Nicola, we really enjoyed our vacation in Mel. The house is wonderful and we felt very welcome. All rooms are thougthfully furnished, decorated with love. You want your guests to feel at home and to relax and that is what we did. The view is gorgeous. The kitchen is fully equipped, we found everything we needed. Lots of flyers and booklets of the area were provided. We had great weather and our stay could not have been any better.

wunderschöne venezianische Villa

Wir haben eine wunderbare Woche in dieser schönen Villa verbracht und uns sofort wohl gefühlt. Alles war sehr sauber und nichts hat gefehlt. Die Villa ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail renoviert und es entspricht genau den Fotos. Der Garten ist auch sehr schön, gepflegt und hat einen super Blick auf die Dolomiten. Wer, wie wir, wandern will, muss aber ein Stück (mindestens 30 Minuten) mit dem Auto fahren. Dafür gibt es keine großen Touristenansammlungen. Wir können dieses Ferienhaus uneingeschränkt empfehlen.
