About the host
Hosted by Fred

On 2015 my wife and I were a typical young couple busy pursuing to be on the top of our careers. But deep inside us; we have this yearning to travel around the world and just experience it while we are still young and while kids are still with us. Waiting till our retirement age and waiting till our kids long gone seems to be the wrong picture in our minds. But this was an IMPOSSIBLE DREAM!
On summer of 2016 we took the risk of hitting the "pause button" of our lives to escape the "rat race" and pursue our dream. We sold our 5 bedroom 5k sqt ft house with all our stuffs (junks) and quit our jobs, we purchased a class A RV, we put our kids into home school, and my wife found remote job at that time, I started seasonal contracting gigs, so we can continue to support our plan. With a 40 ft class A RV and an SUV in tow, with a little savings, downsized stuffs, debt free and a commitment to live simply and experience deeply each other to our journey; we hit the open road!
Couple of years into it we finally see all 48 lower states. We seen countless national parks, national monuments, state parks, museums, historical places, west coast to east coast and experiencing diverse local lives along with it.
At the beginning of 2020 and when the covid19 pandemic happened, we decided to come back to our home state (Oregon). We rented this property to hunker down and avoid the threat of the virus. But we decided to enter the 'short-term-rental" business to continue to support our travels. We love meeting people from all over the world of different backgrounds so why not "host them".
Although we have seen and well travelled all over the United States, we still consider Beaverton, Oregon our home. My wife and I been living in Beaverton for 20 years and you can consider us your travel-tips resource.
