This was our second time staying at this cute cottage. It’s homey feeling is the most important to us. The house is always clean and accommodating. Our host is responsive and has clear communication. Will book again when visiting family in the area.
We had a wonderful stay during the Thanksgiving holiday! Everything was ready and in order upon our arrival, and we enjoyed our welcome snacks. It was very clean, and we had a very comfortable stay. It was so quiet and peaceful with beautiful views of nature. It was so serene. Thank you for a wonderful stay! It is HIGHLY recommended!!!
My stay was nothing short of incredible. The attention to detail was exceptional. The hosts thought of everything to make it the best I could hope for.The place was cozy and comfortable, making my home away from home ideal. I look forward to future visits when I visit family in the area.
We were only there for a couple of days, but there was enough room for the 7 of us there for a son's graduation from Letourneau University in Longview. Worked very well for our needs. The longhorns and pig nearby were a bonus for those of us that grew up in more suburban areas.
Came down from North Central Texas to visit my Grands while they were on Spring Break. This place was just what we needed to relax and take a deep breath from the city. Comfy and cozy and had everything we needed to enjoy our short time together. We didn't use the hot tub this time, but we will definitely be back! Love, love, love this place!!
We stayed here for our nieces wedding. We were very pleased with the location and even happier with the house. It was beautifully decorated and very clean. It fit our family perfectly.
We rented this home to stay in while we were in Longview for a baseball tournament and couldn't have been happier with the house. Comfy beds, cute decor and fun extras like corn hole and games. The hosts were great to work with and communicated everything we needed to know.

Joni,
Thank you for your kind words. Your group was great to host and treated our place well. We hope you consider us for any future stays in the area.
Thanks again!
Nice home only complaints are road noise, which I already knew about and the floors really need fixing they are mushy in several places.

Thanks so much for staying with us, we enjoyed hosting you - although we cannot change the road noise wish we could too!! We do appreciate feedback on the flooring, we have noted the soft spots and immediately following your visit we had those repair with cement board and new floor joists !!
We would love to have you back and see if you appreciate the work :)
We traveled to the area for a wedding and nine of us stayed at the house.
The property manager did a great job staying in contact with us and answering all of our questions.
The house does sit close to a busy road, so if you travel with young kids know that you will need to keep an eye on them outside.
The kids did enjoy all of the animals, and the house had plenty of linens for our large group.
We would recommend this property to others.

Danyell,
Thank you for your kind words. Your group was a pleasure to host.
We hope to host you again in the future.
Locations was great for us , had local people we came to see .
Only
Complaint was couldn’t check it 4 pm and had to leave by 10 am …. That is an 18 hour stay . And having some elderly people in the group was a bit challenging . It Texas heat … a $75 additional charge for late check out was just unkind …. Due to location we really
We arrived late the night we checked in and it was FREEZING, the house was 40 degrees cold. 6 kids needing to get to sleep for an early wedding when the house is 40 degrees is no fun task. There’s a sign to take your shoes off. Just overall not a welcoming space for vacationing. Fortunately they accommodate a large amount of people which worked perfectly for our large family and we only needed to stay for a couple days to attend a wedding. We appreciate the large space, but would not use this property for a fun or relaxing getaway if you have children.

The cottage was roomy but we had several problems. The grill propane was empty and the owners expected us to fill it. We were not pleased with the cleanliness of the house finding several bugs. We would not stay here again.

Benjamin,
Thanks for your feedback!
I would encourage you in the future to take a moment to familiarize yourself with the contracts you sign. As noted in our contract the 2 items you mentioned are previously discussed - guests are responsible for refilling their own propane, throwing a bbq for 27 is all fun and games but when you don’t invite us, we probably won’t fill that propane tank up again. Also, the house is located in a very rural area, we keep an exterminator on bi-weekly visits, but due to the surrounding woods and pastures, there can be some insects, birds, bats and other critters that show up. We hate that those scared you, but again, it was already in the contract.
Thanks again for staying but I’d recommend maybe try staying at the Holiday Inn Express in town next time, may be more your speed.
This was our second stay at the cottage. We knew better what we were getting this time around. The house is a good location for us, but it’s pretty far from most things so that’s something to keep in mind. The cleanliness of the house was a little disappointing. We found what looked to be peanut shells next to the couch and there were several dead bugs curled up in the carpet. The shower curtain definitely needs replacing, it’s covered in mildew. Apart from that the home is a great value for the cost. Plenty of sleeping space and our kids LOVE the goats.
The house was great and the host was nice and responsive.
Our reason for the low rating has everything to do with the contract we received the day before our reservation. We did not feel comfortable signing it, but were told it was mandatory and there would be no entry without it.
Our only options were to sign the contract or cancel, which would have resulted in a loss of payment. They said they would not cancel. We gave in & signed. I will note that after we had signed the owners sent a message through the host that they would refund us minus the fees. We had already signed and also had already searched and knew we didn’t have good options for a group of 8 on what was now our day of arrival. We just decided to spend as little time as possible there as to have less opportunities to incur any of their large service fees.
Please understand we totally believe the owner and their company Mayden Enterprises, LLC have all the rights to have a contract and ask renters to sign it. We also believe the day before arrival is too late to send the contract, especially without a full-refund option. They stated they don’t send it sooner because the address is on the contract, but that could be changed. My reservation was confirmed on Apr 17 and had until Apr 25 to cancel w/ full refund. That’s when the contract should be sent, not the day before arrival. VRBO should require that it to be sent during that initial reservation time as good business practice and full transparency.

Thanks Barbara for your stay, we acknowledge that the contract was sent to y’all too late, however it’s worth noting that the contract has been written over a series of unfortunate really bad experience events and none of the short term rental hosting platforms are much help in protecting our significant investments in our own property. If you stayed at a hotel and destroyed or trashed their property you would also incur fees and costs - that’s why the hotels hold your credit card info and ask for your drivers license - curiously, folks think it totally reasonable to sign hotel contracts but unreasonable to sign contracts at a short term rental home. We would just as soon those folks not stay at our property which is why we immediately offered a refund to your family - we have found those that have an issue with the contract tend to also ultimately cause damage to our properties. The fees are high because the cost of ownership, cost of destroying our property, cost of our time and cost of hiring on contractors is high. Thanks again for your stay, but please find another property to visit next go around, as we prefer not to host visitors like yourself.
Best regards
We really enjoyed our stay! Our kids loved waking up to feed the goats every morning and running along the fence with them. The house met our needs and was in between all the things we wanted to go do. We had a couple reasons for not giving a 5 star, one was the location in proximity to the highway. We didn’t know the area enough to know how busy the street was or how fast the cars drove down it, it just wasn’t ideal for our two small children who don’t always know when to stop running. The traffic noise was also a little loud, but we had sound machines at night thankfully. There were limited cooking utensils, but that could have been because some were packed up with past guests. Overall we had a wonderful time here and the homeowners were incredibly gracious hosts!
We stayed here for a girls' trip, and it was perfect for our group of 5! There is some road noise when trying to sleep, but the pros way out weighed that con.

Serene,
Thank you for the feedback. We appreciated your group being kind to our home. We hope to host you in the future!
I loved this little cottage and all it had to add to the great memories we made there! I have a little one and teens and they all enjoyed seeing/interacting with the animals and our time there. The house had everything we needed and the decor added to the charm of it all. We had a small plumbing hiccup and the communication was quick and it was resolved ASAP. I am a picky traveler and this property checked all my boxes. We will definitely go back!

Kimberly,
We appreciate the feedback. We strive to provide excellent service to our guests. We hope to see you again!
Newly renovated and very clean. Right off the highway, so it’s easy to find. We found everything we needed in the kitchen. Just a heads up to future renters, the toilet paper supply is minimal. We had a nice stay.
