On entering the house, a bathroom faces you and adjacent to the bathroom are two bedrooms. A cozy area with a kitchen and living room with is in a joint area of the house. The house is equipped with all necessary equipment, including comfortable beds, necessary household equipment, television set, wifi, dishwasher, cd player, dvd player, newly renovated house with new amenities. Children are welcome and anticipated. Smoking only allowed outside the house.

Wonderful Cottage with Sauna and HotTub

We loved the cottage and it‘s surrounding. It is remote but still not that out in the nowhere with lovely birds around and if you are lucky, with aurora nights as well :) The house is perfectly cozy with the nice amenities mentioned in the title. We stayed for 2 weeks and would definitely book it again: it was a perfect match!

Great relaxing stay

The house is spotlessly clean, cozy and comfortable, warm and friendly. The next houses are a few hundred meters away, so you have much privacy. We especially enjoyed the sauna and the hot tub every day and made tours to the sights in the southwest of Iceland. This was our second stay in this House and we would love to come back one day.

Quaint & Comfortable

This place is a lovely cottage for prime Northern Lights viewing. Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed the cottage, hot tub and surrounding highlights. We were fortunate to see the Northern Lights from the hot tub three of our four nights. The kitchen was stocked enough for cooking full meals, the beds are very comfortable, the bathroom floors are heated. The outdoor sauna is also great.

We enjoy the short spring break here. The house is very well maintained, clean and equipped with all necessary items. The hot tub was awesome. The only item I say would be a plus is to equip with a household washer.

We loved to stay in this cosy house. Our son wanted to celebrate his 18th birthday in Iceland, great idea! We were very lucky, the weather was perfect for trips to Jökulsarlon, the southern coast, a (guided) glacier walk , ... The most emotional moments were those at night, when we had very intensive Auroras right above the house. Unforgetable! Takk kærlega.

Lovely cabin in a serene setting

This cabin is really well located in a secluded countryside setting only 10 minutes away from a village. The setting is really peaceful and serene. The location is great for exploring the south of Iceland. The cabin was comfortable and cozy. The beds were very comfortable and my daughter loved the upstairs bedroom. The kitchen had everything that we needed to cook for ourselves. There were lots of different entertainment options; DVD's, games and a great chess board. The accommodation is highly recommended - we had a great stay!

Return visit, just as wonderful

This was our second stay and I think that says it all. It was just as wonderful as the first time. Warm, comfortable, well equipped, everything you need for an amazing holiday. The lodge is really well situated in the South of Iceland, all the big sights are within easy reach and also for trips into the interior for trekking and adventures. The hot tub is superb after a long day walking and sightseeing, we didn’t use the sauna but it looked great. The hosts are responsive, kind and generous. We love being able to stay in their lodge. I really hope that we will come back for a third time.

Cozy retreat

The home was easy to locate, near town for quick trips to grocery store. Extremely clean and well appointed. Make sure you understand that bathhouse means the shower is in a building not attached to main house. Bringing robes and flip flops would help. We had a lot of laughter running from bathhouse to main house in the snow and sleet. Many great experiences and memories were made here. Would definitely stay again upon a return trip.

Please update the photos of the exterior. We spent a very long time trying to find the proper house because the property photo is white in the listing and is dark brown and wooden in actuality. Otherwise our stay was perfect

Amazing cottage, brilliant location

The cottage is off the beaten track, but not isolated or remote. It’s easy to find, just a few minutes off the main ring road but so, so quiet and peaceful. It is very clean, well equipped, warm and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need to cook and the beds are comfortable. The upstairs loft bedroom is probably only suitable for children as the ladder stairs are steep and there is low head room. The hot tub was such a warm welcoming treat after along day sightseeing. We had the most amazing holiday. The cottage is within easy reach of many of the main sights and there is a supermarket about 15 mins away. We had an unforgettable holiday and we are already planning our return trip next year.

Tolles Haus und Umgebung

Wir hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt in dem Haus. Es ist sehr gemütlich und hat alles was man braucht. Sogar ein Grill wurde extra organisiert. Die Dusche ist in einem kleinen separaten Häuschen bei der Sauna, was eine Umstellung war aber nicht weiter dramatisch. Der Hot Tub funktioniert wunderbar und wir haben von dort aus sogar die Nordlichter beobachten können. Die Schlafzimmer sind etwas klein und haben wenig Stauraum aber es gibt Schlimmeres. Ein kleines Licht für die Dusche wäre noch super. Und im Inserat sollte besser beschrieben sein, welche zusätzlichen Kosten auf einen zukommen, wenn man mit mehr als 2 Personen das Haus bucht. Aber auch das konnten wir mit dem Vermieter zu unserer Zufriedenheit klären. Ansonsten war alles in bester Ordnung und wir können das Haus ruhigen Gewissens empfehlen.

Super schöner Aufenthalt

Es war ein sehr schöner Urlaub. Das Ferienhaus war wunderschön. Schöne Lage, alles sehr gepflegt und gemütlich. Nach einen ereignisreichen Tag haben wir die Sauna und den Whirlpool genossen und haben uns das sehr gut Gehen lassen. Wir haben fast jeden Tag gegrillt. Danke schön an den Gastgeber für die kleinen Aufmerksamkeiten die überall verteilt waren. Das Haus war kuschelig warm und es fehlte an nichts. Das sich die Dusche im angrenzenden Saunahäuschen befand, fanden wir gar nicht schlimm, da wir meistens Abends geduscht haben, nachdem wir im Whirlpool waren. Somit konnten wir gleich duschen gehen und die Bademäntel waren kuschelig weich. Handtücher gab es in mehr als ausreichender Menge. Das Haus haben wir, dank der genauen Beschreibung, gleich gefunden. Wir werden definitiv wieder kommen. Es ist sehr zu empfehlen. Ein toller Urlaub in einem sehr beinduckenden Land.

klein und gemütlich

Sehr gemütliches kleines Haus. Während unseres Aufenthalts war niemand sonst in der Gegend. Arnar hat den Schnee extra vor unserer Ankunft geräumt sonst hätten wir das Haus gar nicht erreicht. Bei der Nordlichtjagd hatten wir kein Glück, bis auf ein dünnes Flimmern waren trotz Sternenklarheit die Werte einfach zu niedrig... Der Hot Tub und die Sauna sind sehr unkompliziert zu benutzen. Die Fußbodenheizung im Bad und im Vorflur sogt für warme Füße. Die Couch ist neu und gemütlich. Es war sehr schön :))

I work for the national power company in Iceland. I have 2 daughters, age 19 and 29. A passion for travelling, and am privileged being able to enjoy Iceland all year round. The house in the south brings me closer to nature and is a great place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the area.

Why they chose this property

I had been searching for some time for a property with certain features. This on met them all; placement, close to all necessary services, close to major nature attractions and so cozy and well equipped in a quiet area.

What makes this property unique

The property and the surrounding area have excellent views, nice outside area with a separate house equipped with a sauna and a shower. A large platform area outside the house contains a jacuzzi and an outside dining area (summer).
