About the host
Hosted by Jean Marie Rich

Hi! My husband and I live in College Station and have the opportunity to spend most of our days working with college students through an organization called Impact Retreats for incoming students at A&M and Blinn. We are an adoptive family and now have three kids. We love traveling and learning about other cultures, and meeting new friends. We will most likely spend money on a new game to play together.
Why is it called “Back Forty?” Back Forty is the term to describe the furthest or most remote part of the farm.
Jean Marie's parents, Bill and Charlene, who live in Arkansas, purchased this home. Bill is a retired rice farmer from Nicholson Farms in Cherry Valley, AR. Charlene is a retired math school teacher.
Recently, they expanded part of the “farm” to Texas to be closer to their grandkids. They use it when they visit three of their twelve grandchildren. Plus, “BackForty” sounded more invited on Vrbo than “Nicholson Farms.”
When they aren't here, I use my 15+ years in the hotel/retreat hospitality industry to help ensure other guests feel at home while staying at the BCS Back Forty.
