I am from BCS originally and needed a last minute rental for a few nights to come in town for my grandfather's funeral. Availability was slim for rentals and slimmer for hotels. I wasn't excited about this rental but I was grateful to find a place with the basics and the location was very close to my grandma. We had some hiccups. First, the front door keypad was not unlocking; the owner helped right away and quickly resolved the issue. We were able to enter through the garage in the meantime, which, when it lifted, there was a fresh dead roach being eaten by ants. Also 2 dead roaches near the laundry in garage. The older washer has an agitator in it and was covered in black pet hair. I didnt want to spend time cleaning it so I did laundry at my grandmother's house instead.Found lots of tiny dead bugs on window sills. Technically this rental had everything needed it just never felt super welcoming for a family. More upkeep and effort is needed for the amount of money renters pay. Kitchen trash lid was absent so the open trash might be an issue with a pet - we didnt have one. Smelled of pet in one spot in master bedroom only. Armchair in one bedroom visibly dirty. Our bed was comfortable though I noticed no mattress covers on any beds. Last night a live roach was in master bedroom we had to deal with. There are a lots easy fixes for the owner to maintan better to make it a peaceful stay. Til then, I can't recommend.

About the host

This was my first home! I purchased this house in 1985. Lots of memories made there!
Why they chose this property
The home is in The Oaks which is a nice older neighborhood in Bryan. It’s one block from Bob Cherry Park and Johnson Elementary School.
What makes this property unique
Because I’ve owned and cared for this house since 1985 and lived in it myself, it has a great deal of sentimental value to me. My adult children have also lived there at different times before purchasing their own homes.
