Loved the space, so much room to spread out. The large dining hall is perfect for our group of 20. The lake is very clear and clean. Spacious kitchen with ample refrigerator and freezer space for a large group.

What a fantastic place! There were 12 adults and everyone had great rooms, plenty of bathrooms, and more than enough space so that we weren’t on top of each other. The weather wasn’t the best but the house had so much to offer that we were never bored. The kitchen and dining area were incredible! Definitely recommend this place to anyone with a large crowd

Great Option For Large Parties

We stayed at Ackwood Lodge for a long weekend celebrating my sister’s bachelorette. The accommodations were perfect for a larger party. Adam was great with communication and responded quickly. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!!

The Ackwood Lodge was the perfect spot for our large family celebration! Many bedrooms, dining room tables seat 30, huge well equipped kitchen, 2 wood burning fireplaces--everything we wanted!

Szymanski's Summer Vacation

We booked this property based on pictures only. The pictures don't show how beautiful it really is. We have been coming up to Hayward for the last five years and this has been the best property. You will never run out of room and fishing right in front of the property was awesome.

Wedding party

Great place to plan to have your wedding party stay together. Guys can get ready on one side of the house and ladies on the opposite end of the house. We held the rehearsal dinner there. Plenty of cooking, food storage, and refrigerator space. Beautiful view overlooking the lake. Cozy and comfortable.

Amazing!

So many aspects of Ackwood Lodge were amazing and wonderful, but for a group of 18 family members from 5 to 76 years old, the feature was the most surprising was the amazingly appointed kitchen….there wasn’t a tool or a device or an appliance that was missing! So rare!

Fun at Ackwood Lodge

Our family (23 of us) ranging in age from grandparents to toddlers enjoyed this property immensely. The big dining room was great for evening meals and the kitchen was big enough to hold all our food and cook a big meal. The little kids enjoyed catching sunfish from the dock. The dock accommodated our boats just fine. We found enough to do in Hayward for the kids and took day trips to Duluth and Apostle Islands. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio at night enjoying the view of the lake. Very relaxing and quiet. We will be back in the future.

Wow! What an incredible stay!

My wife and I rented Ackwood to host our immediate families for a weekend, capped off with a marriage ceremony. The lodge was beautiful, spacious, comfortable, and exactly what we expected and hoped it would be. The property surrounding the home was well manicured and perfect for outdoor activities - we played pickleball and basketball, and also went fishing (but didn't catch anything!), as well as just enjoyed sitting on the patio, listening to the lake and the birds. Adam was incredibly supportive with all of our requests and responded with lightning speed to our questions. My wife and I couldn't have had a more perfect, intimate wedding ceremony and so much of that is because of Ackwood. We highly, highly recommend it.

From the moment we arrived at this beautiful lakeshore estate, we knew we had found a truly special place. The property is spacious, impeccably maintained, and offers stunning views that instantly make you feel at peace. Every room in the home reflects thoughtful care and attention to detail, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere that made it feel like home.The amenities were wonderful! Everything we could possibly need was right at our fingertips. We loved the beverage center, patio and grill area, outdoor courts, and certainly the lake and fire pit area! The grounds were beautifully kept, perfect for enjoying quiet mornings or relaxing evenings by the lake. When we needed assistance with a laundry hook-up and a light switch, Mary and Dan responded immediately; and with such genuine kindness, concern, and professionalism. They were both so very sweet.What truly set this stay apart was the incredible hospitality and attentiveness of the team. Their warmth, generosity, and care made us feel valued.This is more than just a vacation rental. It's a place that invites you to relax, reconnect, and create lasting memories. A perfect winter getaway

It was a perfect property for our big family of 27. It was really cold but didn't stop the outdoor activities and a quick drive to town and lots of indoor games. The owner was super nice and easy and quick to communicate with! We had a blast!

Work Leadership Retreat

We had 20 professionals stay for 4 days and 3 nights. We did 24 hours of training, we cooked all of our meals with 4 different cooking teams, we snow shoed on the lake both at night and during the day. All of the rooms were really nice and the entire location was well taken care of We really enjoyed our stay!

Amazing property! Plenty of space for a large group. View is fantastic, lots of outdoor space for yard games/basketball/ect. Kitchen is perfect for making large meals. We really enjoyed this place and were very happy with it. Adam was extremely accommodating with our requests. Highly recommend.
