Bach or holiday home, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, (Sleeps 10)
We are a kiwi family who love to share our little piece of paradise with other families when we are not using it. We just love the security of being right on the safe lagoon and being able to watch the children play from our deck. We try to make our place as child friendly as possible so everyone can have fun. We have family members all over the world now and they love to come back to this special place as much as possible.
margls960 purchased this House in 1993
Why margls960 chose Whiritoa
Whiritoa is a hidden gem on the Coromandel and when we saw this property for sale in 1993 we couldn't belive our luck! We snapped it up and immediately enlarged and modernised it, but we wanted to keep the bachiness intact. We don't have TV or Wifi so we can unplug from technology and plug into relaxing with each other.
What makes this House unique
The views are fantastic from every room and with a lawn for tents we can accommodate all the family and their friends too! The layout of the house is open plan and has easy flow to the deck, lawn and beach. We have a garage full of things to do and cupboards full of puzzles games and toys. 4 kayaks and life jackets are available. We were delighted to win a Bookabach Gold Award - Family friendly category
Please consider the following guidelines when booking this property:
100% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date. 50% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date.
Couldn't be happier
Great books, kitchen wonderfully supplied with all needed to cook a good meal, second table great for our jigsaw puzzles Fantastic to stay in Whiratoa again . Thanks for the late checkout gave us plenty of time to eat a good breakfast and to clean.
Glad you had such a good time and for the great review. Thanks so much for leaving our place so clean and tidy. You are most welcome back any time ( to finish the jigsaw)!
Best bach on the beach!
An absolutely beach front location with everything you need for a real kiwi bach experience. Has a great assortment of board games and books and added bonus of kayaks as well. It's great to be on the estuary so safe swimming for younger children and not far if you want to brave the waves of the main beach. Sitting out on the lawn on a clear night is simply magical- the stars are amazing! Lots of memories made here- just love it!
Great that you came back again and still love it. Thanks for the great review.
Perfect Family Location
Such a great spot to stay! The kids loved it as there was lots of beach equipment there such as buckets and spades, kayaks, lifejacket etc and such a safe place for them to swim. Best of all you can sit on the deck and watch them in the water. The location is amasing.
Great you had such a great time and thanks for the review
Great location and facilities.
What a great spot. Utterly gorgeous. Plenty of room, lots of bedding, games, (only for the wet days!!!) cooking utensils, books, activities equipment, and scenery.
Great location for us to access Whangamata for Beach Hop, and yet still stay nice and quiet after a day of car mayhem.
Will definately be looking to book again next year once we know dates of event.
Thanks for a great review and you are most welcome back. Get in early!
Beautiful spot where nana could sit on the deck and watch the big kids play in the lawn, in the lagoon and in the surf
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for leaving it clean and tidy. Welcome back
Awesome place to stay
Great location, beautiful place to stay. perfect for young kids, our little ones spent all day swimming in the estuary and collecting shells/playing on the beach. Would love to stay again and recommend the bach to anyone which was well equipped and in the best location. Thanks for the holiday. The only regret I have is not booking a longer stay.
Glad you found the magic. Thanks so much for leaving it so clean and tidy. You are most welcome back
Whiritoa is a coastal village half way between Waihi and Whangamata on the Coromandel peninsula. There is a dairy, a surf club, a first response centre and a tennis court in the village and full town facilities 15 kms away. The long beach has a huge cave one end and a lovley bush walk to Waimama Bay beach across the lagoon from the house
Coromandel forest park offers hiking, waterfalls and bush walks and Waihi offers gold history and lovely bike/walking tracks through the Karangahake Gorge. The steam train runs through in the summer.
