We chose this property in part because of the downstairs bedroom suite. My elderly parents stayed with us and this was a comfortable room for them. The house was clean and bathrooms were updated though there were not enough towels for all 6 of us. There was ample on street parking for our 2 cars.

From the owner:"Hi! New owners here! We love the feedback and promise there are more than enough towels now, we appreciate you staying and hope you come back to see the changes we’ve made to make the house even more comfortable"
It was great to be in the Navarre House in South Bend. Quiet neighborhood, the house is adorable, clean, cozy, all appliances in the kitchen, the beds are very comfortable!! You can walk to Main st for the nice restaurants, and to ND as well!! I recommend it for all!

From the owner: "Thank you for your kind review, Cristina! We are glad you enjoyed your stay in Navarre and we welcome you to come back in the future!"
The house was lovely, very clean and nicely updated. We did have some issues with the keypad, possibly because of the touchscreen. If you have small children with you or elderly just be aware that the stairs are very steep. Only thing we wish the host provided was some tissues. The toilet paper was rough and not ideal for blowing your nose. Overall though our stay was great!

Liked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Check-in, communication
Check in process was a pain as I was told the code was the last four digits of my phone number which it wasn't. I couldn't get in touch with contact after multiple attempts. Finally we pushed the RING doorbell and that gentleman helped us. The manager eventually answered but it would have left us sitting outside for a somewhat lengthy period had the doorbell not contacted anyone.

From the owner: “Hi there! I’m so sorry for the confusion. We recently put in the Ring doorbell and haven’t gotten all the kinks out yet. I hope you had a good time and would consider staying again. We promise the check-in will be smoother.”

My stay
Overall a nice place to stay. The property manager/Owner Chirrikka was very responsive and helped me immediately when my entry code didn’t work. Cute house decorated nice. I wasn’t crazy about the surrounding houses on the street. Not as well taken care of and some look ready for demolition. I like that it is dog friendly but wish there was a yard for the dogs to use. Lots of extras provided like games, ironing board, blow dryer, etc etcThe only real negative I have is the upstairs. It was really hot outside when I stayed and the upstairs never cooled off. I think in the summer a window unit may be needed for the upstairs guests. Also VERY steep stairs going up.

From the owner:"Hi! We recently purchased this home and are going through the reviews. I’m so grateful for everyone’s feedback. It helps me A LOT. We may need to add a window unit upstairs to help with the heat in the summer months. Definitely worth doing. As far as the neighborhood, I know a lot of the homes are very old and many haven’t been updated to the level of ours, but I truly believe it is a safe neighborhood with a lot of the residents having been there their whole lives. We would love to have you back again! We are currently updating the home with furnishings and decor, etc. Hopefully next time it’ll be 5 stars for you."
