Charming Lakefront Cottage Retreat with large sheltered garden and stunning view
Beautiful and tranquil Kingston is the perfect place for quality relaxation yet so central to the action and vibe of Queenstown.
This North facing cottage catches the sun and offers a beautiful and quaint place to base your Queenstown Lakes adventures or an excellent place to just rest and relax.
One of Kingston’s very first homesteads, this property is really unique. It is Kingston's only true lakefront residence (no roads to cross to access the beach/lake), is sheltered from the Northerly winds and has a small stream flowing through the garden to the lake. With 2 large comfortable beds providing a great sleep for up to 4 guests, the property is thoughtfully furnished and appointed while retaining the unique and rustic charm that really sets it apart from other accommodation options.
Enjoy the silence and stunning mountain and water views from the deck. Enjoy a wine and a good conversation with the doors opened to the garden or if the weathers bad perhaps watch some big screen TV in front of the wood fire.
Take a stroll along the waterfront to our local ‘Flyer’ Cafe/ Pub for a drink, a bite to eat or a takeaway pizza to take back and enjoy in front of the fire.
Great location for summer AND winter with only a 30 minute easy drive to Frankton/Queenstown and just 20-25 minutes to the Remarkables Ski Area access road.
Some Special conditions: SMOKING IS ALLOWED outside only. No tents/campervans or outdoor living on the property. Outdoor fireplace is not available for guest use. Official fire bans are frequently in force in the area.

Great place to base ourselves for a week in the Queenstown area. Very nice house that warmed up nicely in the morning sun. Great deck and backyard to enjoy the evenings in. Host communication was also very good!
Unfortunately the South Island of NZ experienced the worst weather for 20 years and widespread power outages, including this property. Thankfully the fire was great and a good supply of firewood keep us warm and comfortable. Mark was good to deal with and worked hard at being contactable in trying circumstances.
Loved this cottage and the town of Kingston. Perfect starting point for our day trips. Cottage was so clean, comfortable and well stocked. Highly recommend!!
We loved staying here. The place was well equipped, tidy and very cosy. The wood burner takes no time to warm the place up. It is very close to the lake. (through a gate) Ideal stay no matter what season it is.
A lovely place to stay, so cosy and warm with the wood fire. On a sunny day with the bi folds open and the views, beautiful. Everything you need, a home away from home. Highly recommended. Oh, and the beds are very comfy.
This was our second stay and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Great location and property. Thoughfully decorated cottage had everything we needed. Just a few steps to the beautiful lake and away from the hustle and bustle of Queenstown. Thanks for having us again.

Thanks Judith - our pleasure! Glad you enjoyed your stay again :-)
This cabin is beautifully decorated and has everything we needed for a 3-night stay in Kingston. It’s the perfect location for a quieter escape from Queenstown, while still within close proximity to everything the city has to offer.
Great home - so much character, has its own charm :) bit out of town but a great place for down time. Had everything we needed. Sadly didnt catch any fish from the lake.
We loved this property! So unique and comfortable with a lovely view. We especially enjoyed the wood burner as it was a bit chilly at night. Wish we had been able to stay longer!
A delightful cottage, very sheltered and lovely outlook. Also close to the cycle trails for "around the mountains "and some attractive walks. We really enjoyed our stay thank you.
It was an absolute great stay, the host was also very nice, communicated really professionally when there was any issues, he also put a fire on for us upon our arrival which was very nice!

Why they chose this property
We live in this property part time throughout every month of the year ourselves, so it is not a 'holiday home'.
Million dollar views every day and in all weathers. It's location is so close to the world famous, ever growing and bustling Queenstown but this property and Kingston offers a real sense of beauty, space, privacy, tranquility and a 'community' that cares.
What makes this property unique
Characterful historic cottage improved by previous owners who were interior designers. A beautiful balance of enough technology and 'comforts of home', with enough rustic romance to make every stay memorable. - Free Wifi - Large Sheltered Garden - The only true waterfront residence in Kingston (no roads to cross to get to the beach/lake) - Garden Stream
