Amazing place with an amazing view. The perfect rainy getaway.
Spotlessly clean, very well equipped kitchen, comfy beds, and roaring hot outdoor bath.
Most cars should be fine on the driveway in the dry, but might want something a bit bigger for those slopes when wet.
Already can wait to go back.
Amazing place, I would recommend this place to anyone, would happily stay again!

This property is immaculately presented.
This property is immaculately presented., with everything you could wish for, except, because the lodge runs on limited hydro power, there is no cloths drier. There is however plenty of hot water, and an effective gas "log" burner.. The property is situated high on a ridge above Mangamuka Gorge, and at times may be in clouds, but when not, the views are stunning..
The long steep access drive requires skill and/or a 4WD. The entrance is difficult to spot in the dark! A wonderful place!

This property is very unique.
This property is very unique. I loved the privacy and the peacefulness. Only the sounds of nature were to heard. I would recommend a 4 wheel drive for the steep driveway, and then you can drive Ninety mile beach as well. So close to incredible beaches, hikes and yet you have the mountain range all to yourself. Sun rise and sunsets were spectacular, even heard the Kiwi bird at night.

The property is absolutely stunning, waking up to the view that it has definitely makes your whole day. When I saw fern ridge advertised I immediately fell in love, however there is nothing like seeing it in the flesh and being in its environment. It is the ultimate dream house and the homely touches and the smell of wood that hits you when you walk into it, is definitely going to make you want to live there. I cannot thank Erin & John enough! I hope one day to have a house similar!
