About this property
No other quite like it! Waterfront private cabin stay.
Kia ora!
From the hilltop you will view the Mangonui shops. If the sun entices you and it tickles your fancy to make a wee commute over shore, you could bring your kayak and life jacket and paddle your way towards a morning coffee or dinner at the nation's famous fish and chip shop or better yet… both! Or you may like to stay home and try and catch your own from the jetty or watch Sky Sport.
For you animal lovers, we encourage you to share your stay with the donkeys or wildlife. Both of which are docile and receive newcomers well. The donkeys likely will love a scratch and the wildlife just go about their own business.
Fire pit equipment is available for use, but you must contact the owners before lighting one, to ensure the regional fire risk is low during your stay.
The cabin is just a 10 minute walk from the main property, isolated from the farm’s main-stayers, but close enough to reach out should there be any concerns during your stay. Lynley's contact information can be found at the footer of this page.
The property owners, Lynley and Michael have known the Northland region for their entire lives and are more than happy to debrief you either upon arrival or at any point during your stay on the local hotspots and attractions. However it is totally over to you and no offence shall be taken if you wish for us to remain completely out of the way!
IMPORTANT. If you bring any watersport equipment, are after a paddle or just keen to sunbathe, feel free to make use of the jetty at the base of the cabin. Do note however that we rely on quests to make consciously informed decisions around water safety and weather conditions, therefore we will not take any responsibility for anything that happens upon the use of this facility so please be water wise! Nb, there is Damage Protection connected with this property. (Please see house rules)

Excellent location!! Unforgettable views and it’s clear that great care has been put into the property as well! The hosts were so accommodating and friendly. The cabin itself has such a private and secluded feel despite being only minutes from the charming town of Mangonui. One of a kind. Highly recommend.

I had a fantastic stay here. Needed to get away and have some time out and I absolutely found that here. Great views especially at night of the stars and Mangonui all lit up across the harbour. The cabin was very cozy and having sky sport was a nice treat also. The complimentary eggs were a nice surprise and very tasty. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to get away to check this place out. Well worth it and the Donkeys seem to love having visitors also.

Great peaceful spot overlooking the water and friendly donkeys to keep us company. Lovely cute cottage and super friendly owners. Thanks for the great stay. Definitely recommend this place to friends
The most peaceful and calmest place you would find on the north island. Such a beautiful location, surrounded by the farm with donkeys, alpacas and goats, close to the township centre. Perfect for a wee vacation. Will definitely be back one day.

About the host
Hosted by Lynley
After leading very busy hectic lives we learnt along life's way the importance of slowing down for a time to take solace and reconnect with nature, animals and the quiet. We would like to share our little piece of paradise with those of you who recognise the importance to take care of yourself and appreciate wildlife.
Why they chose this property
If you like privacy, nature and the waterfront then this is the place for you to escape too. It would be an advantage to bring a jacket and gumboots or swim gear so you can explore the surrounding area and not to mention the many beautiful beaches the far north has to offer.
What makes this property unique
Ideal for many things from writing a book to feeding a donkey or maybe surf casting from the jetty. Please note: we do endeavor to have the Donkeys at the cabin but sometimes their health requirements do not allow this.
