Very comfortable, has everything you need. Awesome location, close to Mangonui shops. We loved walking and cycling the boardwalk in Mangonui. The best fish n chips at the Mangonui Fish Shop. Lovely to have a tame Turtle Dove visit regularly at the Loft. Just be aware if you are older or have mobility issues the stairs in the Loft are quite steep.
I LOVED this place! I only stayed for one night, but I absolutely wish I had stayed longer. Close to the harbor, and a very short drive to the most famous fish and chip shop in New Zealand, this place is a MUST for anyone wanted to stay in the area. Amanda was lovely and could not have been nicer. The view alone is worth the price of the stay!
Remote and lovely place! It is just a short distance to Mangonui. We used it as the basis for a ride to Cape Reinga.Amanda welcomed us at arrival and gave a short introduction of the place. We found everything as described. Amenities are not new but in good and functional condition. There is no Air Con which can be a bit uncomfortable on hot days, because the room is directly under the roof. There is a great sitting area outside the flat, canopied, we loved sitting there and having a glass of wine.Olive grove is a wonderful place to look at and wander around. There are overwhelming views down to Mangonui and the bay.
This is such a charming, peaceful cottage with gorgeous views and lovely surrounds. Amanda has decorated it beautifully. Everything was perfect for my stay.
Absolutely loved this place, very quiet and serene but only short drive to shops, eateries and beaches. My son slept in a sleeping bag on the floor but no complaints, it’s such a cool spot and a roomy loft. Highly recommended. I definitely hope to return for a getaway with my wife. Thanks a lot for having us.
A lovely loft, so clean and comfortable. A treat to wake to the sound of our native birds. Best bach bed in a long time. Lovely hosts who let us be. Will recommend and return.
A tranquil space surrounded by olive groves, trees, and birds with distant sounds of sheep and cows. The view of the Mangonui harbour in the distance give a sense of perspective. The space is well equipped with everything needed for a short stay. Very comfortable and enjoyable.
We had friends and family staying in Taupo Bay for a family gathering with not enough room for everyone so we stayed at The Loft and to be fair I don’t think the photos do it justice. Great space for 2 and very clean and tidy (and peaceful!). Would certainly stay again. Our host Amanda was not intrusive but there if we needed her.
Stunning view from the living space, lovely to walk through the olive groves, and close to Mangonui shops and beautiful beaches. The kitchen could benefit from another frying pan, sharper knives, and another heater as it got a bit cold in the evenings, although we visited in a cold snap. However, we really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back :)
We arrived exhausted and within minutes wanted to stay a week instead of 2 nights. The loft was beautifully and thoughtfully furnished, the bed sooo comfy and luxurious and oh the peace and quiet. The view of the harbour is amazing PLUS you can lay in bed at night and watch the stars as though you are in an observatory. It’s just a short drive to Mangōnui for some of the best fish and chips in NZ. Drive a little further to Coopers beach and get the best coffee ever at the Beach Box. We were sad to leave.
This was the second time we had stayed at the Olive Grove. Great setting looking over Mangonui Harbour with no other houses close by. A spacious unit with a comfortable bed and a good hot shower. The barbecue was appreciated. The main room is up a steep flight of stairs, so not recommended for those with mobility problems, but fine for others..
