About this property

Comfortable beachfront house at Taupo Bay.

Sited in the middle of the beach. Watch the dolphins play in the surf while sipping great local wine from your deck. The bay has lots of moods - surf or relatively calm depending on the prevailing wind. Explore the beautiful Karekare Peninsula and Matai Bay less than an hour away. Take a day trip to Cape Reinga. Bring your boat (but 4WD or tractor needed to launch from boat ramp). The property has a TV with Freeview or you can bring your Sky box with you. Bathroom and separate loo, and ensuite.

2 double bedrooms (one double bedroom has an ensuite), 3rd bedroom has 2 single beds. The "secret room" downstairs can sleep 2 on a fold-out couch.

Casual internet access may be available through Bachnet (see the camp store), and Spark normally provides a Wifi hotspot at the Telephone booth for the summer period. Mobile coverage in the bay is excellent.

Fantastic stay. Loved the house, communication was wonderful. Great location, beach was amazing. Very relaxing. We were not overly concerned but the house was quite dusty and in need of a decent vacuum. I would certainly visit again.

Nicki and Greg stayed in our house at the same time we were dealing with an unexpected stay in hospital, and this meant we were "off the radar" for a few days. They were completely understanding and a pleasure to deal with.

We did a lot of cleaning when we arrived and left it better than we found it. The limited space left in the fridge, freezer and pantry made storing a week’s worth of groceries for 7 people tricky. An amazing location and we very much enjoyed our week.

Location location location

We loved the house and our week by the beach. The house is spacious and has the best location on the beach. There were 6 of us and we had plenty of room for everyone. We would have liked a dehumidifier in the secret room, as it was winter and a wet week, and the room smelled bad, although the kids didn’t complain and loved having a secret room.

An amazing beach experience.

We had a wonderful few days at this property in Taupo Bay at the end of February. It is in such a wonderful position on the beach and has that feeling of a well enjoyed family bach.There were a some maintenance and cleaning issues that could have been better addressed in preparation for paying guests, but we did what we needed to deal with them at the time and they did not detract from a very enjoyable time of walking, swimming and lazing about!

Taupō bay catch up

Great location and house ,had everything we required but were surprised to find the fridge nearly full of food and other stuff leaving us to have rearrange everything to get our stuff in the fridge. The freezer was full of stuff and had bearly in it so wasn’t keen on using at all.

Spectacular location

Property location was spectacular- right on the beach with sand access from the backyard. Quiet and secluded. Bach was full of everything we needed but there was little room in drawers or cupboards left for guests.

Stunning location and all you need for a summer holiday!

Such a beautiful location, right on the beach. The kitchen is well supplied with essentials, same with the bathroom. Towels/ linen supplied. Lots of board games for the rainy times or evening. Fabulous bach on the most beautiful beach. A lovely stay had by our family with generous accommodation and a great sized kitchen amply supplied with all we needed. Lots of games supplied and a secret room the was very intriguing to find. Highly recommend this gorgeous spot.
