About this property

Perfect Mahurangi Coast launch pad!

Fully self-contained upstairs area in a 2-bedroom house, large deck with wide sea views. Owner on site in a completely separate downstairs flat. Section contained for children and/or SMALL DOGS (discuss and at my agreement).

Protected, child-safe beach perfect for walks etc, and many other walks nearby

Things you can do right now...

Walk the sculpture trail at Brick Bay Vineyard, just 5 minutes away, or just enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine with a platter. Call in to Charlies Ice Cream shop on the way to Matakana, Omaha or further north.

There are many nearby places to launch a boat for a day of fishing or water sports, or take the ferry from Sandpit to Kawau. You can park and clean up the boat here.

Explore the local regional parks and beautiful beaches like Pakiri, snorkel at Goat Island, surf at Omaha Beach or Tawharanui, play golf at Warkworth or Omaha, or kayak or sail in Kawau Bay or the Mahurangi River.

Snells Long Weekend

We had a lovely stay at Davids property. The place is a great short stay for a famliy and was easy to use, has great views and is in an ideal locatio a walk away from the beach. David was a great host and the whole process of check in and stay was easy and relaxing which was perfect.

Unprepared

Suited our needs for Xmas accommodation while visiting family, however, the host was not prepared for our arrival and the accommodation could do with a thorough clean throughout. Sheets provided were very aged with yellowing pillowcases. Similar for towels.

Jocelyn and David I take issue with your review. You are wrong about me not prepared for your visit. You turned up here without having booked linen, stating you assumed it was included in the arrangements. So, rather, you were not prepared for your visit. I have checked this with Vrbo/BookaBach and there is no linen requested in the booking. Instead of suggesting you go shopping at the nearby Warehouse for sheets and towels, I provided you with what I had on hand (and you will be aware you have not been charged extra for this). So you did get what you were given, older yes but clean. I take extra extra issue with your overall cleanliness comment. The basic bedding as normally provided was all freshly washed, including all mattress toppers, light duvets and pillow covers. The house itself is up to most people's standard for holiday accommodation, but clearly not yours. I suggest the real problem here is your mix of assumptions and expectations, and I expect you will be happier in a different type of accommodation should you return to Snells Beach. David

Good bach

Good location and easy communication with owner. He lives below the rental and you barely know he is there. He comes and goes and doesn't bother you. Having a fenced garden was good as we had a small child with us. Great deck and views to the sea. House layout and bedrooms were good. Living area was larger than the photos made it look. The only downside was that the interior could do with a deep clean. The bathroom/kitchen were clean but I was aware that there were cobwebs and accumulated dust in corners of rooms which brought the overall feeling of cleanliness down. Would be happy to stay there again.

A great beach holiday

A great place to stay with the grandkids. Very close to the beach with a lovely garden for boys and dog to play in. David provided kayaks to use which was a big hit with the little boys. Overall a successful summer break.
