About this property

Beautiful Private Lakefront new Log Home

A waterfront, gorgeous log home with panoramic, stunning views of the pristine, 15-acre Huse Pond. A simple walk out the front door and you will find yourself perfectly placed to go fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing, or swimming in the summer as well as icefishing or riding a snow mobile in the winter! The lake is home to the dam of a beaver family, plentiful freshwater bass (great for fishing!), breathtaking cranes, and other wildlife. Kayaks and paddle boat are provided.

This newly built home is located in Weare, a classic New England small town, that is private but also conveniently placed a 15 minute drive away from Manchester and an hour and half drive away from Boston. The property includes a 10+ acre wooded lot, adjacent to several hundred acres of town conservation forest. This home is completely invisible from the outside street, and is distanced from only three neighbors around the lake, making it the ideal place for a private retreat or getaway.

Your stay will be complete with High Speed Comcast Internet, top notch Central A/C for the summer time, and an energy-efficient heating system for the winter time! The house is equipped with a full-house automatic electric generator in case of emergency. The space design includes a spacious balcony and marble-countered kitchens, alongside comfortably furnished living and common spaces!

Fantastic surround sound system installed for the whole house. Each room also has its own audio system.

You'll be just minutes away from numerous destination natural sites, including Lake Sunapee, Mount Sunapee, Pat's Peak, Everett Lake, Lake Horace, and many more! There is ample hiking nearby (Hedgehog Mountain, Crotched Mountain, Oak Hill Hiking Trails).

Only a 10 minute drive away, the gorgeous, clean LAKE HORACE has a beach and a boat ramp and is the perfect place for fishing and water recreation! Only four miles away you can visit the CLOUGH STATE PARK which includes the stunning 150-acre EVERETT LAKE, a 900-foot sandy beach, playing fields, and a large picnic area. Activities in the park include swimming, hiking, fishing, picnicking and non-motorized boating!

New Hampshire adventure activities in nearby towns include off-roading with ATVs, axe throwing, immersive game rooms, indoor trampoline parks, indoor shooting ranges, horse riding lessons.

Also with a 15 minute commute, you'll find PAT'S PEAK: a popular alpine ski area with various trails, terrain parks, and snow tubing! For longer ski trails, a half an hour drive away is MOUNT SUNAPEE STATE PARK with breathtaking views all year round while you hike, ski, or snowboard! Both mountains are incredibly well taken care of by friendly, helpful staff!

Within Mount Sunapee State Park is LAKE SUNAPEE -- another very popular water destination complete with multiple beaches! Here you can visit any of the five lighthouses or the quaint Harbor with restaurants and a country store. You can climb onto boats that will take you for a full tour of the lake, launch your own boat, or go fishing! The lifeguards in the public areas make Lake Sunapee the perfect place for safety while canoeing and kayaking.

For serious chefs or healthy foodies, you will have full cast ions, copper, glass or stainless steel cookware and bakeware if this matters to you. (No Teflon nonstick cookwares).

There is an outdoor pizza oven and a smoker and grill that works with either propane or coal. Campfires with provided moveable fire pit and metal skewers are also a family fun activity snow or shine.

Hope you will enjoy your stay and experience here.

Handsome, spacious and quiet house in the woods. Close enough to civilization to reach it should you choose but also far enough away to avoid it. Very attentive and helpful host. Would highly recommend for a fun and relaxing family getaway as we just experienced.

The house is very well equipped and has a lot of room. The kitchen had about anything you could want to cook. Plenty of dishes and glasses. There was a second kitchen in the master suite if you have a lot of items to refrigerate. Multiple TV’s and a complete house sound system. A large deck for sitting on and grilling. The only drawback was the paddle boat leaks. The pond is not a swimming pond but nice for kayaking. The walk to the pond was a bit down from the house. The volleyball court is no longer kept up. Also there was no fire wood except what we gathered in the woods. But, overall A worthwhile and enjoyable home.

We were very impressed with the size and amenities of the house. The house offered a unique floor plan which allowed my family to spread out. However, the lake was far away from what we were expecting. We were unable to swim in the lake due to lily pads, lake grass and the lack of a ladder. The provided paddle boat was water logged when we found it and a hole was discovered in the bottom after removing it from the water which rendered it useless. The lake was very difficult to fish from the provided dock due to lake grass and lily pads. We were forced to find suitable swimming and fishing locations away from the property which impacted our schedule. Additionally, the walking path to the dock was very difficult for young children and the path was covered with poison ivy. In terms of the property, this is a lovely place to stay with great amenities but not for families like mine who were looking to spend the majority of our time swimming and fishing in the lake.

This house was built after the wetland protection act. The 100-feet buffer zone had to stay in its natural status. Most people had no problem of walking to the floating dock.

Beautiful house, beautiful scenery! Loved the balconies:)Lots of space for everyone- bedrooms nice. Kitchen was very well stocked- very nice to work in. (lots of things in the cabinets other than dishes and cooking equipment- would benefit from a reorganization). BBQ grill was on the "fritz"- Frank replaced it during our stay ( much appreciated that as we planned to grill each night). Advertised a smoker grill and pizza oven- unfortunately we could not use them based on condition. Suggest replacements or removal from amenities list.Washers and dryers and laundry room- wonderful! Such a nice, bright room- big table to fold clothes was great.Weight room was nice and enjoyed.Paddle boat and kayaks were enjoyed by several members of the group.(getting down to the dock was a challenge for the younger and older members- if some type of railing could be added for safety- while keeping it natural looking- that would be an added benefit.)The guest suite was very, very nice! It served as a great area for parents with young children. Internet service was not working when we arrived- but Frank had that fixed during our stay as well- much appreciated. All in all-a beautiful place! We enjoyed our stay!Constructive comments:-Make sure bathrooms & refrigerators are clean-Good dusting-screens, cobwebs in the windows, etc.-General clean up in the lower area rooms- garage, game room, etc-Deck furniture needs attention-Building materials outside moved

We had our early family Christmas of 11 family members and it was fantastic. You couldn't ask for more.. a full gum, ping pong, pond front with kayaks and paddle boat that were so fun! The kitchen has everything you could want. (No Kerig machine but they had coffee) We also hired a chef, Jamie Bougie-Sweet Trash-that I highly recommend. Frank and Dennis were wonderful hosts and met our every need. Would definitely recommend for a fun family weekend.

I work and live in Boston area. I also own some rental properties in nearby areas so will have maintenance crew to take care of this property with a short notice.

Why they chose this property

An opportunity came to me in 2018 so we managed to build it as our future retirement home. It is quite unique as reflected in the private settings with few hundred of forest nearby and a private pond. It is a dream log home for us, making the long time dream come true. You get to enjoy it before we retire it there soon.

What makes this property unique

Privacy, quality of the construction and amenities. One will only see this quality of house in multimillion dollar homes.
