Hillside Hideaway

Located in the heart of popular Mahia Beach, this 3-bedroom holiday home is setup for the entire family to enjoy all year round.
Sheltered from the wind this little seaside gem is situated just 200m from the main Mahia Beach and is a short walk to the Sunset Point Bar and Bistro and Mahia Store.
Take a two minute stroll and watch the local fisherman take to the sea, visit the Mahia Fishing Club or take the kids along for endless fun at the beachside playground, building sandcastles or splashing in the waves.
The super-sized timber deck, parking area, lockable single garage, indoor open plan living, extra large family bedroom plus the master bedroom and bunk room for the kids ensures you have plenty of room for your family to relax and enjoy.
The property sleeps 8.
There is a heat pump to keep you toasty warm in the winter and the shower is on gas so has great pressure!

*NB Public holiday weekends are 3 night minimum stay.

Had a great stay over NY. Bach is close to the shop, pun, beach and playground - all within walking distance. Loved being able to shut the gate and have kids run about outside. Rooms were hot when weather was hot but learnt to put air cond on on the hot days a couple of hours before bed and this helped. Thanks for a great stay!

Wonderful stay

The weather didn't cooperate but we still had a very enjoyable stay at Hillside Hideaway. It had everything we needed and was conveniently located. We particular liked the big deck with views of the water and sunset.

We stayed here for the mahia fishing competition weekend. House was ideal for our group of 4. Was a short walk to the fishing club/beach/shop and had space to park the boat off the street. Would definitely be keen to stay here again!

Cozy batch conveniently located near Mahia beach, local restaurant and dairy. We had a great time. And the deck allows for lots of time in relaxing in the sun with views of the ocean.

There was no instruction booklet so we had no idea where to put the rubbish. Bedroom, next to lounge, curtains are not blockout so they didnt stop the light from security lights of pub across the road all night. The lounge curtain rails kept coming apart and all curtains in lounge need replacing as they have holes and fly dirt. No washing up brush and no fly spray, no ant bait. Evidence of mice in first aid kit. Blown light bulb in lounge.Otherwise was clean and tidy with a heat pump in lounge. Access to the beach was 1 minute, close to the pub for evening meals and the beach shop which stocked essentials. Pet friendly and great for dogs on the deck. Plenty of walks, geology and history.

Had an amazing time staying here, prime location for Mahia, shop and Bar was across the road. House was warm and cozy. Only thing was there was no wifi :( which was needed for personal use and navigation.

Spent 5 days at Hillside Hideaway in January 24. Very clean and comfortable and great shower. Perfect for us 4 adults and 2 little ones. Handy to beach, shop, pub, playground. Great stay.🙂
