Palm Beach Bungalows: Driftwood

Driftwood is a compact but beautiful bungalow which looks out into the canopy of native bush. It has a generous deck for sitting outside, and gets all-day sunshine both inside and out.

The Driftwood Bungalow comes with a double bed and ensuite, and has a galley kitchen and a digital TV. Freeview is available in this bungalow and there is a connection for both Apple TV and Chromecast, so bring either of those devices and stream to your heart's content…if you can drag yourself from the beach or the deck.

Palm Beach Bungalows is an un-staffed property so we will not be on-site during your stay, and the cottages are well separated and private. This is an ideal place for people who are looking for a place to retreat and recharge.

Please note that we require proof of Covid vaccination at time of booking. We prefer to receive a screenshot or photograph of your Vaccine Passport (send to palmbeachbungalows77@gmail.com) but will also accept a photograph of your vaccination card. We cannot process your booking until we receive proof of vaccination.

This was a small, rather rustic spot, but I was impressed with how much thought had been put in to everything I needed for my stay. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the kitchenette had so many useful things. I only used the bus while on the island and the nearest bus stop is less than a five minute walk. I’d absolutely stay here again.

Thought it was expensive for what it was. But clean and tidy.

With no tourist at present (COVID-19) would be good if they reduced the price so locals could afford to stay.

Hi Paul, this is always a difficult criticism to answer. I can only say that we set our rates according to those being charged by other similar properties in the location, and also according to what it costs us to run the property. I'd be very surprised if you were able to find anything else in the area, with all facilities, close to public transport and 5 minutes from one of the best beaches on the island, for less. Presumably if you could have, you would have booked there instead. I hope you had a lovely stay anyway! Kate

Cute bungalow among the trees

Awesome location. Slightly smaller than I was expecting but still plenty of space for 2. Great facilities, even including games and DVD’s! Perfect bach for a young, adventurous couple.

Lovely little place in the trees

A well setup studio in amongst the native bush, fine for a couple or single person who are able to negotiate the track. A tui greeted us when we arrived. Short walk to Palm beach.

A great night's sleep

A lovely, tidy little sleep-out in the bush! We mistakenly thought we could drive down the driveway to unload our car of camera gear but don't do it! There's a hump in the driveway that scrapes the bottom of the car, but it was fine - we ended up carrying everything down to the room. The path aside from it being a little narrow, was easy to navigate, even in the dark and it wasn't far to go at all. I loved that there was shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom as I had forgotten to pack ours. The coffee making facilities looked good too but we didn't use it as we were too tired and went to bed soon after arriving! This is perfect accommodation if you're looking for somewhere clean and comfy to sleep for the night! Thanks for having us :)
