Fish filleting sink & hose available. Washing machine provided. Views of Thornton beach, Whakaari (White Island) and Moutohora (Whale Island). Nearby playground and wharf, lagoon - excellent for kids to swim in. Fully fenced property with secure parking. White baiting & sea fishing. Kids haven with trampoline, swings & sandpit on site as well as bikes and toys.

Enjoyable stay

Enjoyed our stay at Thornton. You need a car to get out and about as nothing is in walking distance but it is an easy drive to lots of places in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. Hosts were friendly and checked in with us that all was going OK. Steep steps between upstairs and downstairs so not appropriate for the mobility impaired, elderly or very young children.

fun for kids

Extremely helpful and accommodating people. Plenty of activities for young kids outside. Very helpful. Stairs to upstairs rooms quite steep, so consider if you have mobility problems or very young children. Safety gate at top great and block at bottom allowed us to relax. Living area a little smaller than expected, very comfortable but would benefit from an extra chair for 3 adults to relax. Would return again.
