The dock is located down below the house about a 3-5 minute walk. It is a little bit steep to go down, but a car with 4WD can make it, or just stroll down and enjoy the lovely walk down!

About this property

Cozy 3BR Lake Access w/ Sauna!

Our spacious home provides ample room for relaxation and entertainment. Unwind in the cozy living room, with comfortable seating. The fully-equipped kitchen is ideal for preparing delicious meals.

Step outside to your private deck and soak up the breathtaking views of Douglas Lake. Enjoy a morning coffee, an afternoon barbecue, or a peaceful evening watching the sunset. For those seeking ultimate relaxation, our private sauna is the perfect place to unwind and rejuvenate!!
The lake is accessible from the dock between April and October.
Please note that from October to April, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) lowers the lake level as part of its seasonal management plan.

1. Do Not Bring a Boat Down the Driveway
-Our driveway is not suitable for boats or boat trailers.
-Do not attempt to drive down to the lake in snowy or icy conditions, as it will be very difficult to make it back up.

2. Use Community Ramps
-If you have a boat, please use the community ramps for launching.
NOTE: The lake is accessible from the dock between April and October. Please note that from October to April, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) lowers the lake level as part of its seasonal management plan.

3. For convenience, you can rent pontoons, jet skis, kayaks, and ski boats from Smoky Mountain H2O Sports. This rental service is located approximately a 10–15 minute boat ride down the lake.

4. Docking at the Property
If you rent a boat for a day or two, you are welcome to dock it at our property’s dock. The dock is about a 1-2 minute walk from the cabin. There is a cement drive and a place for vehicles. Some people will take their car down if they don’t want to walk, but it is quite steep to go down, so the trailer would not make it.

Please Note:
You may notice some bees around the dock area. Since the dock is located near a body of water, local environmental regulations do not allow commercial pest treatments in that zone to help protect the ecosystem.

Just a quick heads-up! The bees are generally non-aggressive and keep to themselves, but we want to give you a heads-up in case anyone in your group has allergies or concerns. We appreciate your understanding and care for our local wildlife!
Since the cabin is in the mountains, you might see some insects or ladybugs, especially in winter. They’re harmless, but we recommend keeping doors and windows closed and storing food securely. We also have regular pest control in place using safe, eco-friendly methods.

4WD vehicles are highly recommended from December to April

We provide a starter pack of basic necessities, such as toilet paper, trash bags, soap/shampoo, and paper towels.

Our cleaners also usually leave (if applicable) dishwasher tablets/dish soap, coffee, oil/salt/pepper, etc.

We do our best to provide the basics, but please consider that it is really meant for getting you started in for shorter stays. If you need a little extra of any of these items, let us know, and we’ll do our best to assist you!

You'll have a Charcoal-type grill: If you intend on using it, you will need to provide your charcoal.

Feel free to use the firepit during your stay. Please bring your own firewood.

Please use the bear-proof containers on the outside of the cabin. Please do not leave food and trash on the decks and porches or in your vehicles. Bears are active and we are in their habitat.

Bear protection:

1) Do not feed or interact with bears if you see them. Never get in between a mama bear and her cub.
2) Never run away from bears, they would think you are prey. Stay 50 yards away.
3) If needed, make loud noises and move slowly
4) Do not put trash outside unless it's in the bear-proof containers- it will attract bears!
5) Take pictures since they are so cute! But DO NOT approach. Lock car doors and cabin doors as bears have been known to get into them!
6) Remove all food and trash from your vehicles! Bears can smell it and can damage your vehicle trying to get to the food!
7) Keep your car doors locked at all times. Bears are getting wiser and they can open car doors.

Should you have any questions or need anything whatsoever, please do not hesitate to let us know and we will be more than happy to help you.

We had a great time at this property. The house was very clean and property manager was responsive to any questions. More than enough space for our family of 6. We definitely recommend staying here.

Quiet and peaceful

Lake was beautiful with just a short walk. The lake view is overgrown now, but it wasnt a deal breaker. The property was so quite and peaceful you truly felt secluded. House could use a little more attention to cleaniness, suana wasnt working and the hot tub had a leak but was still usable.
