Unfortunately, it was posted after we contacted the guest regarding multiple issues discovered following checkout. We had clear, time-stamped documentation of the property’s condition immediately prior to arrival and attempted to address the matter professionally, but the guest denied responsibility and became hostile when presented with the documentation. It’s disappointing to receive a one-star rating seemingly in response to being held accountable for damage rather than as a reflection of the property or guest experience. Situations like this are precisely why we have since implemented a damage deposit for VRBO reservations—to better protect our homeowners while continuing to provide a high-quality experience for responsible guests.
