About this property

A luxe stay in the Paris end of Melbourne

Summary:
Welcome to "The Exhibitionist," a chic apartment styled by a talented designer, perfectly located in the Paris end of Melbourne’s CBD. Situated in the historic Herald Sun building, this bougie retreat places you steps from the city's hottest bars, restaurants, designer boutiques and a short stroll from the Bourke Street Mall. Whether you're heading to the MCG or exploring Melbourne's vibrant scene, this luxurious space offers style, comfort and prime access to everything the city has to offer.

The Space:
"The Exhibitionist" is an impressive apartment located on the 3rd floor of the iconic Herald Sun building, at the corner of Exhibition and Flinders Streets. This historic building was once home to Melbourne’s leading newspaper and retains its classic architectural charm, including its grand entrance and iconic signage on the front facade. Positioned in the city's 'Paris end', this area is famed for its upscale ambiance, mirroring the refined culture and style of Paris, with tree-lined streets, high-end boutiques and an artistic vibe that sets it apart from the rest of Melbourne.

Inside, the apartment exudes luxury and sophistication. Soaring ceilings and original steel windows flood the space with natural light, while the stylish fit-out blends new and vintage Italian designer pieces, creating a unique, elegant vibe. The standout feature is a 3-metre Ponytail palm tree, with its own story of history and growth. Purchased from an immigrant who brought it to Australia when it was just the size of a Chianti bottle, it still flourishes in its original pot, adding character to the space.

The apartment comfortably sleeps two guests in the master bedroom, with an additional flexi space featuring a fold-down double bed, ideal for one adult or two children. Every detail has been considered to ensure a comfortable and memorable stay, making this a truly exceptional base to experience the best of Melbourne.

Step outside and you'll find yourself amidst Melbourne's hottest bars and restaurants, including the famous Chin Chin and the timeless Gimlet. Start your day with a croissant from Lume, just metres from your door, where lines of eager locals attest to its fame. Whether you're craving world-class dining or just want to explore Melbourne’s iconic nightlife, everything is within reach.

Choose your own adventure when it comes to shopping - whether you like a spot of haute couture or high street fashion, it's all within easy walking distance.

Sports lovers will enjoy being so close to the MCG, where you can catch the biggest AFL games, cricket matches, and major concerts. For convenience, the historic city loop tram stops right outside, offering free rides around the city. If you're driving, there's a secure garaged car space available, a rare luxury in this part of town.

The apartment’s name, "The Exhibitionist," is a nod to both its prime location and the fabulous guests it attracts. With its bougie interiors and glamorous flair, it offers a one-of-a-kind stay for those seeking the ultimate in style and comfort in the heart of Melbourne.

This place has a great location and is in an iconic building. Some of Melbourne's best restaurants are only a stone's throw away and it's a short walk to the Botanic Gardens, Collins Street shops or the NGV.The view is marred by the car park opposite but there are glimpses of the river and the passing parade.Access was reasonably easy. The key drop is about a ten minute walk from the property. The property was clean and comfortable. The beds were comfortable and the linen and towels were fine. The lounges are funky to look at but not that comfortable. The kitchen is well set up but there were no bin bags. There was also only one toilet roll in the bathroom. It's a well put together room but there's a step in to it which wasn't obvious to my old eyes. Also long showers lead to flooding as the shower door doesn't seal well.I'd give the place a five star rating but for one thing; the dining furniture. The chairs are cheap black plastic and the table which looks stunning is broken. It looks stunning but with one finger it wobbles in any direction you choose. I'd planned to cook one meal but that went out the window when I discovered the broken table. We ate our Lune croissants on our laps. The property managers seem responsive. They let us in an hour early and say they'll get the table fixed or replaced.I'd stay here again if the table was fixed but I'd bring a few tidy bags and toilet rolls with me.
