Spring Break in Mt Vernon

We absolutely loved the stay! Everything was great except for the loud walking at random times specifically during the night (this is a 2 bed 1 bath basement apartment).

Basic place, bare minimum

Place was pretty basic. Remodeled (DIY-ish) basement; bedrooms don’t have egresses and the toilet leaned to 1 side, some walls are only partially painted w/ primer. Old, mismatched reeked of weed. Not even hand soap provided.

Safe and Quiet Location, Easy Parking

The Good: very clean and comfortable, roomy bedrooms with comfortable beds, easy street parking, never a problem even with alternate side if street parking. Convenient to the parkway and stores i.e. Target. Host communication was excellent.The Bad: placement of microwave in cabinet over the refrigerator, I needed to stand on a chair to reach it. I suggest it be moved to the counter or attach a shelf to the right side of the upper right cabinet and place it there.The stairs can be difficult to negotiate especially with luggage. Must take care not to hit your head on your way down. If you have young children it can be treacherous, great care is needed.Needs Improvement: utensils, condiments. Teaspoons would've been helpful along with salt, pepper, sugar and cooking oil.Additional recommendation: at least 1 extra TV in either bedroom would be helpful. Please note: the bathroom is small so if you're built l Iike a linebacker it can seem claustrophobic. Also, footsteps from upstairs tenants can be excessively annoying in the living room area especially around midnight.I'd like to note that I extended my stay an additional week and felt safe and comfortable. I'd book this apartment again in a heartbeat, now that I know the pros and cons.Starlin, thank you for your hospitality and being quick to respond to me queries.
