Very cute home nicely set up in a nice subdivision. Wish the bed in the master bedroom had been a king but absolutely beautiful master bath. The living room needed a bit more light or lamps it was a bit dark at night in the living room.

Family Lake Escape

Loved the dock and direct access to Lake Barkley. Enjoyed quiet evening walks to see deer and other wildlife. We also enjoyed the hot tub and large back yard. We planned to eat in and made due, however this is a new rental, so the kitchen tools are limited, but workable. Plentyof room for family of 5 or more, great cool for sleeping. Thank you for the wonderful accommodations!

It was an overall good stay. The property was exactly as portrayed online visually. The interior was clean and spacious enough to accommodate our family. We primarily chose this property due to the proximity to the lake and the accessible boat dock. The dock area could have been more clean and there were rotting fish in proximity to the dock. I understand it’s a lake house and this is normal but the fish had been there a while and the dock area just stank. We enjoyed fishing and swimming but the smell made it less enjoyable. I contacted the property owner via VRBO message the evening prior to checkout to inquire about a late checkout but never heard back. I also texted the property owner the day of checkout but didn’t get a text response back until after checkout, which was a moot point by that time. The communication could have been better. Again, overall it was a good family trip but it could have been a great trip but for a few small, easily fixable things.

From the owner: We are glad that overall you had an enjoyable stay and found the property as advertised. We're glad everything was clean and spacious, and your family had fun. - We apologize for the communication issue. We checked with Evolve, and they advised you to contact the local guest contact for the late check-out approval. We did respond to your message, but it took us a while to get back to you. - Regarding the lake, it is approaching winter pool, which is about 8 ft lower than the summer pool. The odor is due to the fact that the lake is lower, exposing what was previously submerged by the water. The area is not known to have a lot of dead fish washing up, and they usually don't contribute to the smell. We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.
