Finding the cottage was a breeze, with great directions, and check-in/check-out was also very easy. The cottage is expansive, with enough bedrooms and bathrooms for our extended family of 15 folks and 2 dogs. The beds themselves are very firm and might take a little getting used to, for those who prefer plush beds. If you have some older folks in your group, you’ll want to give them one of the two bedrooms on the main floor as the steps to the 2nd and ground floors can be steep. The dining table was large enough to comfortably seat all of us at mealtimes - a rare treat given our numbers. The family enjoyed spending time on the dock and small sand beach, an easy 5 minute walk from the cottage, down a gravel path. While at the river’s edge, we saw lots of wildlife including turtles, geese, herons, otters, frogs, hummingbirds, and so much more. Note: the property is adjacent to the Alexander Hope Smith Nature Reserve, owned and managed by the Couchiching Conservancy. While there were some housekeeping things that required some attention (eg: light bulbs that needed replacing, a broken tap, etc), overall we had a great week.
